Because you're saying I said something I didn't and backtracked when the posts are right there. I've tried to be reasonable and acknowledge we have differences of opinion on manner of performance but you just had to keep chipping away.
What are you even on about You’ve said it was a good performance and on another day we’d score them chances I’ve disagreed with both. What have I said you’ve said that you haven’t
It's through Not the Top 20, if you search them on Youtube it should pop up. They have an audio version where they have a further discussion at the end about the interview which was good to hear too which is on Spotify etc.
He wasn't happy when subbed, good, and when he reached the dugout RS was at the edge of his technical area so he was behind him, he did however shake hands with one of the coaching staff. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
If I wasn't being good with, hopefully, a mortgage application coming soon, I'd have put money on Donny getting through. Easy money really.
With all due respect to Howden it didn't take a genius to forecast the financial issues the club experienced last season as it was reasonably apparent in the underlying result of the year prior. It also doesn't take any insider knowledge or insight. I was called a bullshittter for suggesting we would be in a position of having 50m+ debt when this set of accounts was released and we've ended up coming in even higher than that. What I think will matter moreso will be how we come out of this season looking in terms of finances as we no longer have the 'easy sell' assets we've had previously, so you would want to hope that the sales of Jaden and Jacob plus financial restructuring in terms of wage bill have us in a healthier position going forward. We've now 'taken the hit' of levelling up the squad (I know it doesn't necessarily feel like it on the field at the moment) so we shouldn't be needing to have huge spends going forward, but rather pruning around the edges (I say wishfully). It's also worth putting in perspective that our operating loss is roughly the same as a club like Bristol City. This is just the level clubs operate at to be competitive and chance their arm at the play offs each season.
It's a very fair point, when teams come at us we have more space in their half to work with, but if, like Donny, they go with a low block, we don't have the quality of players who can find spaces to open teams up. P,S. Thanks for the heads up with Fawa News, worked a treat.
It really was Deja vu with Donny, they just sat deep and waited to hit us on the break, very much similar to the last game against them. Grant certainly knows how to set up a defensive team, and to be fair it worked well for them. We really do need to find ways of unlocking teams who site deep, it was the same with Liam and Walter and now Ruben. Hopefully Crooks will improve things creatively. Giles really struggles defensively, he is not suited to full back, either wing back or even play him as a winger as his crossing is his strength. No one had a particularly bad game, just collectively we couldn't break them down enough. The ref was poor, it was definitely a red card and their keeper should have walked IMO. Finally, we should have at least seen the penalties out, though with Burstow emulating Josh Magennis and Jones taking one of the worst penalties I've seen we gifted them the result.
It wasn’t the financial things like forecasted accounts that worried me. Losing £500,000-a-week or whatever it was isn’t great but isn’t extraordinary for a Championship club. It was the accusations of cronyism at the club that random Turks turned up to the club unannounced saying Acun had promised them a job.
Reminds me of when mum said a random Turkish looking bloke in a suit got off the bus near the stadium when she was visiting my grandparents in Anlaby a couple of years ago and we joked that it might be one of his mates. Thought nothing of it at the time
looking back it wasnt some awful performance, it was a tale of most of the season we penned doncaster in pretty much the full game, but we have the penetration of a damp sponge thats all there is to it
