I'm waiting until I see the big budget recreation of this epic confrontation starring Danny Dyer before I make my judgement.

The people who get on my tits are those who act as though a slap on the wrist is a far better punishment than getting a smack in the gob.

Do I agree with the violence that absolute scum show, ie Millwall fans who go out looking for trouble rather than a football match? Of course I don't.
But this is one punch we're talking about, and after being floored, maybe that's one less gobby **** in the world, especially if he was pleading afterwards <laugh>

I'm sick of this pathetic 'tell a teacher' idea.
I'm only 18 so you can guarantee someone will reply to this by saying I'm young, violent and don't understand etc.
But I grew up with this 'if someone hits you, don't hit them back, run away and tell a teacher so the kid can get a slap on the wrist' bullshit.
I genuinely thought it was just a kids thing but I spent a night in a cell not so long ago (let me guess, I'm now a thug in everyone's eyes) because of a fight.
And it came down to the same thing. Instead of 'tell a teacher' its 'tell a policeman' and it's exactly the same load of bollocks. Accept an insult or a smack in the gob and tell a copper so they can do absolutely **** all.

Kind of ranted myself a little off topic there but you get where I'm coming from <laugh>

Lol, the way i see it we all deserve a beating once in a while, it wont have done the offender any harm and as previously said, may teach him to not mouth off in public again.

I'm of the age when I remember young lads would get a clip from men to keep them in order.

Society seemed to work better then through my rose tinted specs.

I saw quite a few gobby Leicester fans trying to goad City fans yesterday , doesn't surprise me at all if somebody took exception to their behaviour

It's quite easy to avoid trouble but if you look for it you just might find it

TWF how long have you been a football fan ?

No, you're spot on Horsham. It's about personal responsibility. Our society sucks, there's been a gradual erosion of our culture to the state now where we are dictated to by the state as to what we should think, feel and do. Like you, I suspect, when I was a kid if someone got on your tits, you gave them a slap, if the resulted in an all out brawl, so be it, at that point the Bill would get involved. It's like school, the youth of today have little or no respect for their elders or betters and it all starts in the classroom where the teachers running scared because society has tied their hands in dealing with the issues they are charged with.

Bit off topic now, but's all part of the same thing. Like I say, I don't teach my lads to be violent, but I do make sure they have the attitude that they sort their own problems out and take responsibility for their own lives rather than run off and "Tell teacher!"

I'll leave this famous quote and let you decide your own principles for how you live your lives;
*
‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’

By the way, the ****e spouted by TWF, could be interpreted as evil! OLM, is it time to do 'something'

A few years ago, I was acting like a knob whilst following City and got a ****ing good hiding from some bigger boys!
Whether you agree or not, it worked, I thought about my actions and decided to knock it on the head.
If this twat was mouthing off, giving it the big "I am" then he deserved all he got.
If I'm coming back from a game and some piece of **** threatens or makes me or the people I am with feel threatened, I will defend myself accordingly, If that means giving one of them a clip I will do so.

If someone actually attacked you, you'd be daft not to defend yourself.

If you attack someone because you don't like what they're saying then you're just daft.

Tend to think that's a bit different to the actual event. I don't think he came up and politely told everyone he would like some trouble, he was probably much more aggressive and threatening than that.

If I started acting up, getting in people's faces and being provocative, I'd fully expect someone to challenge me. It sounds like this is what happened yesterday.

It's about having a basic level of respect, this daft lad will no doubt grow up at some point and get tired of being slapped down. Call it a learning curve.

Common sense tells me, if you go looking for it, you'll find it.

I think us older fans remember when things were a bit worse than somebody getting a slap, not condoning violence but this is nothing really is it

It's not as black and white as that and you really should know that.

Very rarely will you get chinned without any kind of warning sign.
The most common form of warning sign would be verbal threats.
When someone is jumping up and down, beckoning and shouting aggressively that they think you and the team you support are a set of ****s you can take it that he doesn't want to be friends.

Half of these 'casuals' are ****ing cowards and a quick pre emptive dig can often do the trick.

You'd be daft to stand there and let whoever work themselves up in preparation to assault you.
Either run or fight but just standing there thinking that you are above such insults is the work of the very stupid or very naive.

Whoever gave this gobshite a slap probably stopped a more serious incident occurring so as far as I'm concerned; well done that man.

I remember getting a few punches and slaps of the boys in blue in the kempton back in the early 70s for mouthing off, even getting shoved down the steps behind the stand once by robo cop PC Nesbitt .. Those millwall fans would have soon sat down with Nesbitt in the north stand giving them a clout across the head.

I didn't see this myself, but just a thought. Jobbo said in his OP that the Leicester fan(s) were goading City fans. If all that they were doing was winding us up then the slap would appear to be an over-reaction. If the goading was of a threatening nature where the City fans anticipated that the Leicester fan(s) were gonna attack them then self defence would make the response justified in my opinion.
