They'll still likely lose this in ET because Spurs will be much fitter and have the depth. And it's not about them getting spanked at Spurs, it's about what a massive day that would be for the fans and even moreso the money that it would bring to the club.
They will probably lose in ET but even if they win and they could well lose the next round against a L2 side. Whereas an away day at spurs would not only be fantastic for fans but would be a huge injection of cash for the club.
I actually agree with the decision to scrap replays. There is simply no room in the football calendar any more. And replays are outdated now. No other competition had them. Having said that, prize money should be altered so the lower ranked you are, the more money you earn for progressing to each round.
There would be room (as there has always been) if the top European clubs weren't so ****ing greedy Should be proud of traditions that make our great competition unique, not getting rid of them
Its only the European clubs who have a lot of games. That's quite simply the price of success. Quite often see non league clubs playing 50+ games in a season but never hear complaints then.
Exactly this. Plus a lot of the non-league guys work normal jobs alongside as well. Don't hear much about their busy schedules ...
This is the single biggest argument against the lots of games argument. Spurs flew off to ****ing Australia less than a week after last season ended. Basically what it comes down to is that it's okay for the big clubs to make as much extra cash as possible but not the minnow clubs.
Yep, **** the FA and **** the big clubs Cheated Tamworth out of an cup final equivalent replay at Tottenham
Absolutely. The "too many games" arguement has no weight when the clubs that supposedly have the issues (due to European football) willingly add extra fixtures purely for profit. If there really are too many games then I'd say remove all clubs playing in Europe from the league cup. That won't happen because of sponsorship - greed wins again.
Oh look Spurs take the lead. Hey Tamworth, fancy a once in a lifetime trip to one of the big clubs, coming with millions which will fund you for years and maybe fund a EFL push? No? You'd rather lose in ET to a scrappy OG. Okay then. ****s
