I see that when O'Nien is put under needless pressure by another player (Moore) and makes a mistake he cops the blame, when he put Mepham under pressure and he puts in a crap tackle and got sent off it's also all O'Nien's fault. It was like getting blood out of a stone getting people to accept that Mepham had his share of the blame for that one. Shame to lose late on but I'm about as indifferent to a Sunderland loss as it's possible for me to be.
Not for me. Watched it back loads. Moore actually does ridiculously well to control a chest height blast from Neil. Brings it down and side foots it to 09. It's canny tight be he actually has time and space to receive and continue the play. 09 issue is he didn't realise there was another on the other side of him and his touch was one of an elephant. He then compounded to wipe the player out and give the penalty. If you want to play football from the back, Moore was spot on. 09 , again, making a poor touch and compounding with a silly foul for a pen.
Moore was spot on, Mepham always spot on. Moore could easily have put his foot through it and not put a CB under pressure right in front of goal. Sometimes you have to forget trying to play out from the back and play it safe.
So, today was a bit ****. More than half empty stadium, a team picked that smacks of a club that didn't give a **** about the cup. Stoke picked their strongest team and we might have still won. Don't care about the result, concerned at Alese's latest injury and disappointed in Connolly today. Think the lad needs to go elsewhere, he's not a fit here. Hey ho, onwards to Burnley
Pleased to see Samed get minutes, pleased the service got on the score sheet, pleased for the youngsters who made their debuts, pleased to be out of the record padding and trophy case filling competition. Disappointed it went to extra time.
Pretty sure all the Feb tv games have been scheduled now and this is one of them hence the early kick off so can’t see it moving, you should be good mate
As the lads have said you'll be fine for that game, Sky won't change the date ... ... you may as well stay up for the Luton match on the Wednesday
yep the Watford game will go ahead but will Sky change the date ? don't fancy Plymouth coming here now in a fortnight
It wasn't a bloke in row 14 was it? We were in row 15 and my son had an argument with him just after they took the leaf, when he said Neil should be sold as he is crap. Went quiet when my son told him to not be so stupid and what about the last 8 or so matches when he has been our best player. I had to laugh at him because I told him the guy normally sits in the row in front of me in the North Stand and he is like that every game. He sees fouls, throw ins etc at the other end of the pitch that no one else sees. A complete moron.
Mepo wasn't playing. Moore did well to take Neil's silly pass and tried to play the ball out so we could start an attack. There was sufficient time if 09 controlled the ball correctly. He didn't. Then wiped the player out. Think mepo has made 1 big mistake all year. 09 has made 4 in a month. Let's not compare them, as they are in different stratospheres to each other. 09 has been good this year but last month or so he seems to be going backwards. Always playing past the line or showing poor touches and decision making. Hope he gets back into consistent form without wiping players out, giving pens away, wrestling people to the ground, scoring own goals and missing headers from 6 yards out.
O9 definitely hasn't seemed himself over the last month, yes he's had some decent performances in there but his performance levels have dropped imo His positional play has been poor this last month and I don't even think his passing has been that good I really like him as a player and hope it's just a bad month (it's certainly not been shocking by any stretch), I just hold him to a higher standard than I did before because of how well he started the season
I never usually sit in the South East corner, what a nightmare. Row 40, needed oxygen when I got to my seat. Then during the match an endless stream of people going back and forth to the concourse. With regards to the concourse, the fathers proudly leading their children into the exit on the gents toilets must be very proud they are bringing their children up correctly. Is it that bad on a normal matchday?
Unrelenting isn't it ! Onions has made the odd mistake, like everybody else, yet there are still some who hate him and always want to highlight those odd errors . . . . I simply don't understand anyone who hates any of our players, never mind one of the core of our team who regularly gives far more than most
Yeah agreed. Seems to have let some old silly habits back into his game. Playing right on the edge and past it which brings about the amount of mistakes he has been at fault for. Hopefully he turns the corner.
There is no hate. However, the simple fact is he has made more major errors leading to goals against, pens given away etc than any other. Therefore it will come up more. If we are to push for automatics we need 09 to cut out these mistakes and quick. He has had a good season but last month has been mad.
Nothing wrong with people calling out his mistakes tho. I posted having a go at O9 as I think his form has dropped recently, I also do that to any player and not just him It seems people aren't allowed to criticise O9 these days just because some might have targeted him in the past. O9 has had loads of praise on here this season, and rightfully so, some didn't think he was a championship CB and they've admitted they were wrong Most on here will criticise any player when they make a mistake, unfortunately for players like o9 and Patterson (mentioning him as he has had his criticism this season), if they make a mistake it'll often lead to a goal Just because some will criticise a player doesn't mean they hate them, Neil got belters from a few this season but I know those people also really rate him. O9 is probably the most likeable person at the club and one of the most likeable players we've ever had
