Why focus on the negatives? All the players have their good and weaker points. Let's focus on getting a few points more under the belt until January and then see what transfer magic Tony, Amit, (Lakshmi??) and Neil can work between them.

Whatever we say about MOTD (see other thread), it was vaguely comforting, though no guarantee of course, to hear Lauro and Hansen stating so confidently that we would be fine as though it was already a done deal.

    Come on you Rsssssssssssssssssss!!

SWP is an interesting one and is certainly dividing opinion. For me, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from him. We all know how good he has been in the past, but he hasn't played regular first-team football for a long time. So my expectations weren't incredibly high.

Had his goal stood on Saturday, I think we would have gone on to win comfortably and SWP would have probably ended up getting rave reviews. He's been similarly unlucky in other games, coming very close to goals against Newcastle, Wolves and Chelsea.

I think ninj is right, it's probably a little early to be having these discussions. He may go on and end up as our player of the season or he may go on to be unceremoniously dropped with Puncheon coming in and proving us all wrong!

Bothroyd for me. Had some vague hope that he would actually do ok in the Prem. He slows the game down far too much and always seems to dally on the ball.

A little harsh on Betty some of his hold up play is good, taking a little time to get to grips with the premiership, Puncheon on the other hand wot the **** he is doing at our club,i can only think they thought they might not get SWP in time and pannicked, can't see him being in the 25 come the end of January.

Excluding the ones like DJ and Dyer who have hardly played, as I don't see that we can really judge them, Bothroyd has been the closest to a disappointment for me, though even he played well against Spurs and City. Forgetting the long term injured and players like Perone and Puncheon who were probably never expected to be starting many matches, the signings have been good. Great when you consider most came in a very short time frame. Traore, Young and Barton have been fantastic signings.

The most disappointing signing were the ones Warnock did not get! Crouchie would have been fantastic alongside the likes of SWP and Mackie. And Bellamy would have been even more fantastic alongside him. We need that goal scorer still as we have done for 5 years or more.

Crouch not exactly tearing up trees and he'd be in our Icelandic goal machines slot.
    Bellamy was a shame.
