Watford lost tonight so if we lose on Saturday, the league fixture will still go ahead on FA Cup 4th round weekend
As long as we lose 5-4, with Stoke being given 3 totally unjust penalties ... ... that would suit me fine.
I want us to win and progress but there’ll be no complaints if we get beat and come through unscathed injury wise. Tie to be done in 90 minutes either way too
I love the FA Cup but wouldn't be interested in a trip to Southampton for example ... ... a long away day for players and supporters, a risk of injuries and little glory if we win.
…neither would I, until the lads convinced me Let’s see what happens Saturday, it’ll be nice to go into a game not desperate to win
Unreal isn't it I said 'Absolutely not' to Plymouth away on my birthday. I was persuaded to go so booked a flight to Bristol, hire car and hotel. I found out my driving licence expired the day before so had to book a train and two different hotels. We lost and I went out, for a steak dinner, with the lads. I flew back, the next day, and missed my train by five minutes. I took a taxi home and the whole trip cost me £450 ... ... I arrived home to find my driving licence renewal only lasts a year, instead of ten, because I'll be 70 in September. Another similar trip, to the South Coast, might well result in 'Durham man in killing spree' headlines
Personally so do I but I can see the argument of wanting to keep a winning run going. RLB has shown to be a manager that doesn't like to disrupt within games, perhaps he's also the type that doesn't like to disrupt BETWEEN games as well.
I'm genuinely not arsed about the FA cup. We really have bigger fish to fry. I see this game as an opportunity to try different players and even tinker with the system... I we win, great....if we don't...meh...
Truthfully I’d rather not have more fixtures and run the risk of playing them up the road again. We all love a cup run but I think in the position we’re in it’s just not necessary, realistically we have no chance of winning it.
They’ve beaten Ipswich and Leicester 4-0 in the last few weeks I wouldn’t fancy our chances, as much as we’re a much better team now they’d still hammer us. Would be hilarious if we did beat them tho!
Sorry mate, I meant we are higher in the league than the last time we won the cup, which is what I thought you were referring to.
Apparently he had a go at Fergie jnr after the game. When Ferguson was asked in the press conference afterwards about it he said that he was trying to get something out of the game "As much as I wanted Tyler to get on, if the game had been 2-0 at that point I would've put him on, but at 1-0, I had to get a forward on. I've got to try and get something out of the game and do what is best for my team." Ferguson's decision was perhaps not surprising given midfielder Tyler had only made one professional appearance prior to Thursday night - which came as a substitute during an EFL Trophy tie against Stevenage in October. Meanwhile, he hadn't made the matchday squad in Peterborough's last 14 games before being selected on the bench for the Everton clash. Fair do to Ferguson I suppose but it would've made a nice story
