Nigel Pearson's great escape in 2014/2015 will always be something to write home about. Leicester were bottom on Christmas day he was able to perform miracle and finished 13th at the end of the season.
Bottom of the table at the moment :
    18.Wolves
    19.Ipswich
    20.Southampton.
As for Southampton, Jesus may need to visit Galilee again and turn water into wine.
I think all the teams that came up last season are going down. Wolves are strong enough to stay up.
Leicester 17th Crystal Palace 16th and Everton 15th. Palace and Everton can be able to survive relegation too.

    So imo: from the bottom

20th: Soton- They may have ditched the suicide football, but I just don't see them winning enough games. They'll pick up more draws by being more solid and pragmatic but the cost of being more solid at the back will stunt their attack, slow the flow of goals. They need wins rather than draws. Relegated

19th: Ipswich- Good spirit about them and they are in most games, but not converting that into Wins. Another team that needs wins rather than just a good performance. Relegated.

18th: Wolves- Got the players to stay up, no depth though. Keep Cunha fit and they could survive. I'd edge more towards survival just because they know how to do it.

17th: Leicester- The bounce from the new manager seems to have worn off fast. Big losses in a row, especially to Wolves, could turn into a proper slump they can't get out of. Not a great deal of quality to keep them up and still very reliant on old man Vardy. Probably Relegated.

16th: Palace- Results all over the place, seem to be better in away games. Again another team with enough to stay up. Should think with the lack of quality in the 3 promoted teams will save them more than anything.

15th: Everton- They lack goals. 2nd lowest GF in the league, may trouble them if the clubs below pick up some form. But like Palace the lack of quality in the 3 promoted teams will save them more than anything, saved by there being 3 worse than them...Again.

14th & 13th. West Ham & Man U- Shame its only an outside chance <laugh> but who knows? :bandit:

I think wolves will be OK

All bar Ipswich have already gambled on the manager change so imo the club who spends money best might survive.

The ffp roulette may yet have an impact as well

Southampton and Ipswich I'd agree on but everything could change by Feb 1st with money.

Palace is utterly amazing me. They shouldn't be near there.

Leicester light to be the final relegated side but we will see i suppose

I'm pretty sure we're safe now.

Ok, so if City gets force relegated (probably wouldn't be this season if they did because they would appeal) how many others would go down? 2 or still three with four being promoted?

It woud depend on the method of relegation

If they are expelled for cheating then they were not relegated

If they are deducted 50 points the they might still not get relegated but it looks close now

It matters as expulsion means the efl would have to resolve the situation and decide where to admit them (they might choose to let them into the championship or into league 2

The issue is this. How do you decide within the rules about who stays up or who do you invite to be promoted?

Do you change the rules and let only bottom 2 go down?

Do you say sorry 3 still go down and we will stick with 19 clubs?

Do you invite the efl to promoted 4? If so how?

In many ways it can be.hugely disruptive to expel them whereas a 50 point or 100 point penalty might just be easiest bit less punishment on them

When the chips are down the sides thst defend best cone through.

They all now gambled on a new manager except palace.

Imo the worst two sides we played so far aside from Southampton are palace and wolves. As their teams looms really lacking in confidence.

Neither should be in the fight but I think one will slump down.

Ipswich don't seem to be able to defend but got a few results now.

Nobody from man utd lols down are safe.

But if mid 80s is going to win the title then 4th might be in thr 60s again and those points have to go somewhere.

Will 35 be enough this season? It's 18 points away for Ipswich which is 6 wins.

Why draw the line at United? Spurs are only one point ahead of them! Although it's tempting to laugh at United, I'd draw the "safe" line as anyone above Everton. Sure, there's ones above that who could fall, but I don't think it's likely. Everton themselves pretty unlikely too I suspect Ipswich may just about reach safety. Wives, Leicester, and Soton going down.

(accidental but I'm keeping it like that)

    Because it's funny.

First what will the safe.mark be?

35 or higher? I don't know right now.

    Nothings too inspiring down there.

If it's 35 then some big sides only need 3 or 4 wins to be out of it from 18 games.

I think West ham have acted as they are getting drawn into it and also have bowen out. They really only need 4 wins.

Palace are just out of it but need about 5 wins.

After that you are looking at the teams in the teens in terms of points

Everton, wolves, ipswich covered by 1 point and the woeful leicester just behind.

I'd say ipswich would have taken this before the season. They are in the mix to survive.

Really there's not a thing to stop any club on 21 to 23 points slumping over 5 games and ending up being caught. Thats what Leicester did 2 seasons ago.

I don't know who is going to benefit most from the market this January and the new manager they have hired.

3 of the 4 clubs in the teens have new managers.

Yes, I think 35 points will probably be enough for safety. The good thing for a relegation zone club is, yes, it only takes one win for you to move up a couple places. Things can move faster at the bottom. I don't think Palace and Everton are technically safe yet, but I think they're good enough to avoid slipping... so that just leaves the bottom four for me. Unless, as you point out someone goes on a dangerous slide... or heaven forbid gets docked 10 points alongside Everton for something.

Wolves have 7 pts from their last 4 games and I think they've started to improve under Pereira. I'd hang fire on predicting because the managerial changes at the bottom might dramatically alter things.
Saints are doomed barring an absolute miracle, and my feeling is that Leicester will join them, but that is still far from certain.

There's also the city 100 point deduction too.

Thst wild card has to be taken into account.

I thought any potential points deduction was expected to be placed on next season, not this one. Not that anyone really knows.

The fact that Everton were punished in a current season for prior seasons delayed results of investigation means anything is possible.

The hearing is finally over. It's about when they report. I have seen feeling they will try and find a big news day to bury it

Today, Putin dropped two nuclear bombs on London causing complete annihilation of the nation's capital. Prime Minister Alexander-Arnold immediately responded by ordering Trident submarines to launch nuclear weapons against Moscow in retaliation. Stick around later in the show as we announce Manchester City's sentencing.

Sounds like even as Prime Minister, Trent's attack is better than his defence.

Yeah - he was wandering about aimlessly and watched ICBMs fly over his head and was too late getting back to get an ABM block in.
His retaliation was bloody accurate though - right down St Basil's chimney.
