I can’t see us taking more than 400 up there next Tuesday night @ElfsborgAddick although I’m sure the locally based Global Moderator will be one of them.
Is good that the game has been scheduled so not to intefere with further fixtures, BUT am concerned as to how things pan out with the weather, assuming you have local knowledge, is it as bad as being posted that the roads are very dangerous.
Thanks to your boys for being well organised & showing respect to the away fans - we had sold over 1,000 for tomorrow. Our last away game at tinpot Crawley was called off at 2.41pm - 29 mins before kick off.
At such short notice we may not take a coach up there, short of getting the overnight train which arrives back in London around 7.30 I cannot see many travelling and staying overnight. I reckon it could be sub 300 English going.
I know we’ve got a big Supporter's branch in North Wales. They hold regular monthly meetings in the local kebab house in Wrexham. I am sure they will represent us London-based fans well next Tuesday night.
English football is being distorted and corrupted by one thing - relentless, insatiable greed. The greed of the Premier League. Of mega-wealthy foreign owners. Of FIFA and other governing bodies. Of sportswashing States. I agree that relentless insatiable greed is not a traditional English characteristic. Sporting values and fair play mattered more to English football fans and players for over 100 years. Corruption, match-fixing and dishonesty did exist, but those things were confined to the extreme fringes and they disgusted right-thinking folk. I cannot blame 'woke' politics for the continuing decimation of English Football. If opposing the blood-soaked abuses by powerful puppet-masters like Qatar and Saudi Arabia is considered Woke, then I would be proud to so labelled. And sulking players on £350,000 per week like Rashford make my blood boil. Just another facet of the obscene sell-out of sporting values. While hard up fans are asked to shell out ever-increasing ticket prices, and being treated like fools.
Increasingly over the years I have found that fans brought up on football from the 70's have gradually walked away from the modern game, be it not being able to afford or not prepared to be exploited. Premier League grounds are full of day trippers and fans that do not know any different to paying bundles to get into a game.
We should play a weakened team now on Tuesday night, the incentive has gone. We don’t need a meaningless Cup tie v Wycombe that will churn up our cabbage patch even more. I’d play our weakest starting X1 at Preston , meaning Ahadme & Hylton starting up front & A.Campbell playing 120 mins.
It's probably academic anyway. Preston's Reserves would clobber even our strongest XI nine times out of ten. Huge credit to any Charlton fans willing to make that journey on Tuesday. I agree it is a pointless hiding to nothing now. Half the magic of the 3rd round used to be playing almost all of the ties on the same day. Isn't the Gasman supposed to be way better than Alfie May?
Our reserves would not hammer your first team, suspect we'll put out a side that hopefully will be near full strength
No disrespect intended. Your full strength team (or most of them) won't find us much of a challenge. I'd not usually admit that on 3rd round weekend, but the magic has gone out of it this year for me - for various reasons...
Have to agree Tamworth being denied a replay, matches being played on 5 different days apparently it's progess
