Martin O'Neill will take charge and may have been handed a blessing in disguise. With Catts suspended and Colbacks no show yesterday I think he'll go with Vaughan and Gardner in the middle, that alone changes our whole team and at home in a very positive way. I think Catts has been very good recently but the simple fact is that he an Colback are ineffective as a pair, its gotta be one or the other. We've won two games this season and Cattermole didn't start either, hope that trend continues against Blackburn. Sess was star man out left so I think he'll stick there. If Turner isn't fit I think the back 5 will be the same.

Its a clean slate for everyone and a chance to impress the new manager. Blackburn is a must win game and I expect the SOL to be rocking and the 12th man. We could make the difference.

    My team

    ........................Westwood..................
    Bardo........oshea.......brown..........Rico
    Larsson...Gardner...Vaughan........sess
    ................Bendtner...Noble

I do have a feeling MON may use Rico in a more advanced role though. May Titus return?

I honestly think that he will pop up with some suprises, a player who we didn't expect but will be awesome..

Could he drop Sess?? Put Richo up on LM after showing he can score?? Will he play 2 up top? Can he play that with our lack of strikers?

I wouldn't be suprised if we saw something like:

    ........................Westwood..................
    Bardo........Turner.......Brown..........O'Shea
    Larsson...Gardner...Vaughan........Richo
    ................Bendtner...Noble

I know Sess has flair, but MON will be looking for someone more solid and play as a team. I don't know why but I think he could be dropped to benefit the team...

    I could be wrong though.

Sorry mate I certainly hope you are wrong, to drop our best player.
Nearly as bad as Black's decision to sub him!

We havent got a clue as to how MON will judge the players and which team he will choose.

For all we know he might play Elmo at RB (where he plays for his country), its up to us to trust the manager the majority of us wanted/said would be happy with.

We could end up with the following -

    Westwood

    Elmo, Turner, Bramble, Ricco

    Larsson, Vaughan, Gardner, Sess

    Bendtner, Noble

    who knows?

Everybody is picking Bendtner... (I think this is more out of desperation and a lack of options as opposed to any other reason). After his no show yesterday I'd be hesitant to see him ever play another game in the colours of SAFC. Hopefully Martin will have given him the rocket that he fully deserves and in turn I hope that he will actually put in the effort that is needed to succeed at this level because if he doesn't, we are going to struggle to score any goals whenever he plays. We could be lumbered with yet another uninterested player until the beginning of January at the very earliest, hopefully not.

No offence but that team looks awful. Think most West Ham players would get in that side

Cole and picquionne would probably get in due to our problems upfront. Maybe Nolan. Who else would you put forward? Please don't say George McCartney

The players should have been out to impress yesterday, far too many didn't turn up. Thet all knew the new boss was watching, you would think they would have bust a gut to show him what they could do. Only Sess came out with any real credit, always looked dangerous. I thought Ji did enough to be given another go. Colback was very poor, why do we go with 2 defensive mid fielders. would like to see vaughan and Gardner given a go. I think we will see the same back 5 again, although goal apart I thought Richardson was very poor yesterday.
Just a quick note on potential new signings, Alan Brazil reckoned this morning that Andy Johnson from Fulham will be his first signing (out of contract in summer ) Is he the standard of player we should be looking at ???

O'niel will pick the players based on what he sees in training over the next week, not on 90 minutes where the tactics were dictated by Bruce right hand man

Andy Johnson would be a welcome addition for me. I wouldn't mind signing a target man on the cheap, even if it was a Heskey or a Picquionne to tide us over. Johnson and Picquionne partnership would be better than we have now

I said at work today that he needs to warm the bench in the next match, because he put no effort into yesterdays game at all! However, like you say, if Martin sticks a rocket up his arse we might see a different player on Sunday and we are thin on strikers at the moment, so maybe it's a case of having to play him whether we like it or not.

As for Sundays line up, I would like to see Sess in a central midfield role alongside Vaughan. As we all know, he's a tricky creative player who could burst forward from midfield (ala Lampard), leaving Vaughan to protect the back 4 and would probably gain plenty of free kicks in dangerous areas for the likes of Larsson. I believe that Martin will want Richo in his best position out on the left wing, so here's my guess for the weekends line up.....

    .............Westwood..................
    Bardo........Turner.......Brown..........O'Shea
    Larsson........Sess........Vaughan........Richo
    Bendtner...Noble

Aye, he does, but we don't have the speedy, skillful, creative wingers that are required for this formation, which is why Steve Bruce failed miserably when he tried to play 4-5-1. The solitary striker also needs to be a target man that can hold up the ball for advancing midfielders and we don't have one of them either :(

I feel for your fans atm, but Bruce on the last game of the season said that he would be watching our players and scouting them, how disrespectful is that? Have wanted him to fail ever since
