With Gray, Bergvall, Yang, Moore, Kinsky, Spence and Lankshear the future is bright. I understand the frustrations of the past couple of months but the upside is the speed of development of some of these youngsters. This is a team with a bright future if we stick with them and the manager.
Looks like a broken shoulder for Bentancur which is somewhat a relief as I initially thought it was his neck. Everyone played their part tonight, with an exception to one or two Spurs players. Defence was immense and absolutely limited their attacking. I didn't agree with the offside rule as Solanke's feet were behind the offside line with his shoulder slightly over. Stupid rule! Kinsky's first goal was very promising and hopefully he will get more time to show us what he can do. MOTM for me was between Spence and Bergvall.
It's weird how our backup FBs keep pocketing Salah Sessegnon pocketed Salah and Saka within a few days of one another during Conte's run-in
Twitter is the only main social media platform I use nowadays because it’s full of wrong’uns and I’m certainly one myself, the addition of Grok has made it even better.
The Club really must trust Kinsky....they send a player up to H Club after the match and chose him. My sister sent me a photo of him high-fiving Pat Jennings
I just hope the manager does persist with them and not fob them all off once players are back fit from injury or suspension. Spence wasn’t getting a sniff until the injuries, not forgetting his exclusion from Europe. Gray and Bergvall went about 8 or 9 league games barely getting on the pitch too until injuries started to arise. Lankshear’s currently not getting a sniff either and we’ll see over the next few weeks if Moore (and Yang) plays over that dunse, Werner. They’ve shown they’ve got the talent and deserve the trust to grow on the pitch. I hope they get it. I really would especially love to see Gray and Bergvall in midfield together before the season finishes too. Gray’s industry and mature head coupled with Bergvall’s technicality has the makings of a good partnership.
What a superb win and performance. Been so much doom and gloom for a while now but hopefully that win , returning players and hopefully a couple more signings we can get our season back on track and finishing strongly. What a debut by Kinsky, we heard great things about him and that was a very assured confident first start. So good with his feet but also not afraid to kick it long too. Archie Gray with another class display, he’s just so composed and technically excellent . So level headed and by all accounts a leader already in the dressing room at 18 years old. we all think he will be our future DM but it wouldn’t suprise me if he becomes a top CB too. Bergvall was everywhere , so tenacious and love how he constantly looks to make the forward pass. Thoroughly deserved his goal tonight. Spence was excellent at LB so good defensively and Solanke is probably the hardest working striker in the league. Negatives Kulu has lost a bit of form, trying to make things happen but poor touch or bad decision making, to be fair he’s been run into the ground. Johnson pretty anonymous again take away his goals he’s pretty shocking. Sonny just isn’t the same player, another poor display. Glad we’ve extended his contract but we need a new starter on the left now. Hopefully our walking wounded filter back soon and with our best team who knows we might get to that final. Tamworth next would love to see Moore,Lankshear and maybe Yang start.
Tbh he showed a greater calmness and assuredness than Vic - and his distribution was a class above as well. One game I know, but to come into such a big game and perform at that level takes some doing. I fully admit that I underestimated his ability to gel with a new inexperienced back 4, although in my defence 'the' defence played out of their skins in front of him and the MF provided great cover too.
No disrespect to Tamworth, but we have to rest some key players at the weekend. And I mean REST. Not even travel. Send them on a Spa weekend or something!
It felt like the whole group has been stung by the comments coming their way of late. Can't fault the grit and determination tonight, especially the defense that we've all been unsure about. Of course the narrative will be that 'Pool were well below their "standards", but they were simply not allowed to play tonight. Agreed that Bergvall was MOTM for me, an outstanding performance from an 18 year old and Archie not far behind. It will be an interesting second leg I reckon.....
And before I head off...a quick shout out to Bissouma. He has his failings and we've seen some of them repeatedly, but he was excellent tonight.
His distribution is leagues above Vicario’s, that’s evident already. I said earlier too but if his shot stopping can be as good - even slightly less - then he should retain the spot upon Vicario’s return because he’s a keeper in the style that Ange needs to play it out from the back. I reckon he’s got about 4-5 games before Vicario is back, it may be a small sample to tell from but we’ll be able to get an idea what he’s like at facing various types of shots.
I think Ange will to be fair. There should be starts for Lankshear and Moore. Yang to ideally get some game time too. Dorrington at the back possibly even debuts for Olusesi and Hall as well at some point. Unfortunately though it is likely going to lead to a Werner start… just wanna warn everyone!
