Yes, although in retrospect, It wasn't really a summer of zero spend, just a summer of zero spend on players. We had to sign a new manager and heavily replace large portions of the coaching staff... I'm sure the costs involved in all that equalled the costs of bringing at least one medium-fee player to the club.

We cannot do what every other big club does as we are not run by people who allow debt to be run up. we have to do things differently. One is not as his fee was large and he hasn't scored as many as thought (szoboszlai) We will spend big enough to get a good player but we will want upside in them. Gakpo and dia but are worht more than we paid right now but contracts will be an issue(diaz) Nunez is worth half at most. I think we overpaid for nunez and will be going back to buying protential from here. The biggest single improvement we made as a team is buying VVD and alisson.
