Have I missed a 1904 podcast Syd? I can’t seem to find the one that would normally have been shown Monday just gone after the TWS mauling (the ****s them!).

 

They just released one today I believe.

I agree, however it still miffs me off that, We were so incapable of defending corners under Silvas reign. And we had Maguire, Rannochia and Dawson in our back line.

 

Zonal marking is usually crap - instead pick your man , focus and stay with him usually goal side and be strong .

Didn't realise Arveladze started that badly. Obviously it went to **** after the summer but from memory I thought he did alright at first. I certainly don't remember any unrest about his performance from fans at the time, even though he replaced McCann who'd just won three in a row.

 

I think he won his first game and that settled nerves for a bit.

 

I think the imminent takeover focussed some minds there.

Grant can count himself unlucky, but Acun Media were never going to come in and tolerate a manager who'd made part of his ethos resistance to media and and foster 'us against them'.

Grant is at his level. And he would be in the still be in the championship or L1 if he was at our level.

And if he ever gets a club promoted to the prem I'll eat my words.

But he won't.

 

He may well have got us promoted to the prem if we hadn't sold Bowen or Grosicki and had instead looked to bring in reinforcements.

 

He was well off by the time they were sold.

If it was still realistic, maybe Turbo wouldn't have been sold off for next to nowt as well.Thats what pre-empted the decision not to reinvest and instead cut losses.

 

Interestingly that season is next up for our retrospective podcasts.. will be an interesting look back.
