IMG_2107.png Not surprisingly I got a low score as I hardly ever venture onto instagram, Fakebook or TikTok, my all time favourites are X as Elon has made it such a wonderful free speech platform, and obviously Not606 <ok>

Is he though? I think that’s a naive way to dismiss him.

He’s clearly an intelligent bloke as demonstrated through his decades in industry. He’s not going to be mislead over something like this, there’s clearly more to it.

He’s a grifter. Even the far-right have already turned on him over H1B visas for Indians. His only principle is self-interest.

He's sharing completely made up ****e on Twitter, ****e that's clearly made up ****e, but he shares it because he's too dim to check it first.

In fact, I messaged him on Twitter last week to tell him he was a thick twat and he didn't even bother to respond, how rude is that?

He doesn't need to grift though... One of the most asset rich on the planet, many children and businesses - why is he taking an interest in UK crimes, Nigel Farage, Tommy Robinson etc. How does he have the time..

    cause power turns him on
and the amount of assets he has, leads to a lot of power and buying people

other people do the work for him at the companies

Being rich doesn't stop someone being a twat though, more likely the reverse. I think Musk has an ego the size of Jupiter and it takes a lot of feeding, hence his cosying up to world politicians like Trump, Farage, Putin, Meloni, all right wingers as it happens, and criticising the UK govt. He's just making waves while being responsible for none of it, he'll walk away when it suits him.

Or, as someone put it earlier and more succinctly, he's a deluded, ill-informed, ****.

I've never understood how he's the richest man on earth. How did that happen? He's bought things that were already massive like Twitter but how did he get rich enough to do that? Making electric cars and putting rockets in space surely is quite an expensive thing to do, it doesn't make sense to me that those enterprises would make him richer than Bezos, Zuckerberg etc when those people have built digital services that half the world use on a daily basis with what I'd imagine to be a relatively safe level of cost - that stuff being hugely profitable makes sense to me. I know Musk, like so many, was born ultra-rich but it still doesn't explain his ascent to the richest person in the world.

Have you seen some of his tweets ? He might know a lot about spaceships and electric cars
but that doesn't qualify him to talk about other things

He initially got rich due to an online bank he was involved in, that merged with another company and became PayPal, which was then sold to eBay for $1.5b.

I don't understand it either but I think he owns getting on for a quarter of Tesla's stock, that must be worth 2 or 3 hundred billion, you can borrow a lot of money with that as colateral!

Tesla received massive subsidies from the US federal government, not to mention contracts with the federal government. Basically on the state’s tit.

I don't think he was born ultra rich. Wealthy, but not insane levels.

He put $130 million into a company, as the then major shareholder, that's now worth ca. 800x the amount, depending on the share price.

You’re assuming he believes what he’s posting and doesn’t have an ulterior motive.

Like I said, it’s naive to think someone so intelligent would suddenly disregard all common sense, it doesn’t add up.

There’s a simple explanation and it’s that Musk is a cringy, edgy dork who just so happens to be a billionaire.

Why is the owner of a social media platform getting behind the right-wing "freedom of speech" nuggets?

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/online-safety-act-explainer/online-safety-act-explainer

"Companies can be fined up to £18 million or 10 percent of their qualifying worldwide revenue, whichever is greater. Criminal action can be taken against senior managers who fail to ensure companies follow information requests from Ofcom"
