Tough game tonight, even if Liverpool rest some players. We need a result, as trying to get anything at Anfield will be a monumental task. However, if we play like we did in the 2nd half against Newcastle, we’ve got a change of getting a result this eve. I’ll be interested to see what Ange does with Austin tonight….
Some...erm... interesting comments from Ange ahead of the game...to say the least. Not sure how they'll have gone down in the dressing room.
Kinsky (why the hell not) Porro Radu Gray Spence Bissouma Bentancur Kulusevski Bergvall Son Solanke That needs to be a proper 2-man midfield base btw, not the fluid 3-man nonsense we usually see. Did it twice against City and it worked, no idea why we don't use it more often.
That's the team I am hoping to see tonight, going more in hope than expectation, I think they will make a few changes but whoever plays they are likely to be more than a match for us.
Even Salah would struggle at Spurs - Postecoglou - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cwy38j5gz6wo
The whole team is struggling right now, so adding Salah wouldn't magically see our form do a 180 overnight Clickbait journalism did the rest, and for some reason our fanbase can't see the agenda spelled out in 20ft high letters
Hopefully Austin is on the bench. He has produced one good game in his entire career and has failed to impress five different managers.
"You need a team that's kind of in good form, creating opportunities, playing on the front foot, having a really solid foundation of a defence that is cohesive. None of these things exist at the moment." That's a direct quote. He then goes on to say that if you put Son in Liverpool's team, he'd be scoring plenty. We all get the fact that Liverpool have a much better team than us, but this is hardly what I'd want to hear on the day of a semi final. The only 'agenda' here is that Ange is fishing for better players in exactly the same way Jose and Conte would do, because he is them with an Aussie accent and crap CV.
“Mo is a world-class player, but if you put him in our team now I’m not sure he’ll have that same level of performance because of the situation we’re in as a group,” said the Spurs boss. “His attacking play, who do you need? You need a team that’s kind of in good form, creating opportunities, playing on the front foot, having a really solid foundation of a defence that is cohesive. None of these things exist at the moment.” "Basically that even Salah would struggle in this team because it's pretty ****." These comments are not the same
We're not in good form. We don't create opportunities. We don't have a solid foundation. Our defense isn't cohesive. In other words: we're **** and I'm fishing for more players. I'm fine with him doing this, just not hours before a semi final against the team he's just described as much better than us.
