And it will only get worse. The middle class have left the area, and turned the lights off. What’s left of the working class wants to join them in Bromley, Bexley etc .
I would never say I was middle class!! Everyone did get out tho by 1990. Schools went feral. Then the gentrification happened for the Olympics which was looks putting a bow tie on a turd.
I live in the Bexley Borough and even that is not great. I want to move out of the area and buy a place in Whitstable. But my Wife wants to stay, because of her Sister.
Murders of children are always dreadful events. The parents of that boy killed today have just had their lives destroyed - regardless of what profile their son might fit into. That terrible event today is now being used here to put one side of a political argument regarding migration. There are many other online platforms where that subject can be discussed without any restrictions whatsoever. But this forum is not one of those platforms. Off-topic political posts will be removed.
Who has mentioned migration ? Even your NATO-standard sensitivity radar must have had trouble picking that one up. Posters are sharing their personal experiences of the Woolwich area becoming a dangerous ****hole.
My condolences go out to the family of the 14 year old boy why senselessly lost his life. I have also not mentioned migration. I have just commented on these areas getting more lawless and dangerous. I will leave it there.
The tragic murder is the third story on the national BBC news tonight - the reporter said the local community is angry.
If the majority of members here wish to discard the 'no off-topic political posts' rule then I will abide by that choice. The rule was brought in to try to preserve this small community as an even playing field for all Charlton fans, regardless of their views of non Charlton Athletic and non-footballing subjects. Some of those subjects are very emotive and arguments about them could divide us and drive people away from here if they become the dominant type of posting. A poll and / or a thread can be created to rescind that rule if that is what most folks here want.
Yep just leave it Lardi. We will no longer share… 1. political opinions, 2. opinions about areas we have lived in. “Next” ..
I have to interpret what is posted, and I have only my judgment to draw on. To me it seemed that the first point above was merging with the second in some posts. I don't do this because I enjoy irritating other members. It's my responsibility. While I'm here it will always be the case that the few rules we have can be changed or dropped if the majority of members wish it. Unlike some other boards this forum is not run by decree. It can be whatever a majority of members want it to be.
Interesting unintended timing, but i came here to my ole English landing pad to ask a few random.... Do the English like Elon Musk, especially considering his opinion on English politicians of late. Did the ringleader involved in the assault of that girl Samantha really only get a 3 year sentence ?
Any opinion of Elon Musk posted here would break the current rule that there should be no off-topic political posts. "off-topic" is defined as any subject not related to Charlton Athletic, football in general, or other sports. I'm not sure what you are referring to by the assault on Samantha. If I knew the factual answer I could post it, but any opinion offered of the sentence might or might not break the 'no off-topic posts' rule depending on how that opinion was worded.
