Yeah I think a lot of it is sabre rattling. The problem is somebody else might actually react to one of those threats.
I agree with him in part over NATO provoking Putin, I've always thought that and said as much many times on here. I get why he wants a closed shop, after all America probably can produce most of what they need. Why do they need anyone else, same as being Green, he said who asked for it, the people didn't, it was forced on them....again he's right, but he's missing the point we need to look after the planet within that. Is he a lunatic, yup and that's probably the most outrageous I've ever heard him.
The Yanks had a huge problem when communist Cuba parked Russian nukes on their doorstep, so whilst I see the point that Putin doesn't like NATO as his next door neighbour, Putin did actually want to join NATO at one point and wanted accelerated membership but was told he would have to join the waiting list. He didn't like that, so chose to go his own isolationist and expansionist route, invading Georgia, Crimea, Chechnya and then Ukraine. As a result of that, he's put NATO on alert and made their resolve to strengthen more resolute. The threat to places like Finland and the Baltic nations is now very real and more countries will want to join NATO to protect themselves from the threat of invasion. As for the closed shop thing. whilst the US can produce a lot of it's own resources, it's no longer the 1950's and the US like most developed countries, is tied into the global supply system and global markets. They could extricate themselves from a lot of it I suppose if they really wanted to, but it would take a long time to wind up those contracts, jobs and supply systems and make them exclusively in house in the US. It would also cost more both in terms of production and wages and would likely push up consumer prices considerably.
Anyway, I've got subtitles switched on for Sky news and Trump just said that if the hostages aren't back by Jan 20th it will be very bad for Hummus
That's the danger of his performance on home soil. When he has morons with too many weapons genuinely ready to storm the Capitol building. His ego just didn't want to admit defeat and I guarantee he didn't think through that him claiming actual electoral fraud could have ended up with people storming that building. Even when he told them all to leave he couldn't help himself from slipping in "yes they robbed us but i dont want to go to jail so please go home"
This is the danger of his sabre rattling, there are actual nutters out there who will react to it Whether that's his own supporters, or some Islamist warlord in the mountains of Afghanistan
The only thing with more personnel than the Russian armed forces is the amount of spin doctors the Putin government employ. No matter what web of tales they weave, this invasion of Ukraine has been an absolute disaster for Russian foreign policy and their global reputation. In the span of this war they have reduced Wagner to a small division losing ground in Africa, crippled the Russian economy, caused two further nations to join NATO, lost control over Syria to Turkey (after investing billions into taking propping up the Assad regime) and have seen thousands upon thousands of young Russians killed on the frontlines. Your spot on about Russia and NATO too, they were all for joining at the turn of the millennium, up until the Russian invasion of Georgia, Russia seemingly were quite open to as much Western investment and support as possible.
Lol, look at the state of Gaza, remind me, what did NATO members and their weapons protect. Oh and let's not forget the bombs of peace in Yugoslavia...and you think Putin is the threat, right.
My mate from Afghanistan is 110% convinced that the Taliban were only allowed to take back power in Afghanistan after making agreements with the United States. He is positive that the current Taliban are an American puppet state.
Look at the countries the likes of America and Europe have virtually obliterated....and I'm supposed to worry about Putin, oh please fook off.
but you said ;Trump during speeches is not the same Trump we saw in office. He's just performing.; Now is he a danger or isn't he, make up your mind Welshiie
Well logically speaking his rockets are pointed in your direction and our rockets are pointed in his direction so based on that alone I'd be slighly more concerned about him than us when it comes to your personal safety unless youre taking a pinkie tour to gaza
But you said; That's the danger of his performance on home soil. So now he's dangerous. Maybe he's just a nice guy like Trudeau who threatened to freeze Canadians bank accounts.
Gaza is nothing to do with NATO though, and the West has an almost blanket support for Israel. NATO bombing Yugoslavia was supposed to end the ethnic cleansing of Albanians, I guess it depends where and when you think military intervention is justified. It's all a bit of a strawman argument though. Regardless of the above, Putin still represents a threat to counties on the borders of Russia, as has been demonstrated in Ukraine.
a performance can be dangerous depending on the audience oh wait your on one Im gonna nope out of this one I think inabit lads
