Is suggesting they offer 10 mil for Catts in January, not getting a lot of support but a chink of light all the same.
Well they have history of paying over the odds for average players... Come on Dagleish get ya boss to dig deep.
I'll fly over and personally drive him ...anywhere Now don't spoil the deal by being greedy, ANY price will do
I don't know why people have got it in for cattermole personally. If is a Kevin Ball type of player that gives his all even when he's having a bad day and yet if gets pelters every week. I think Mon will build a team around characters like lee and get us back to a winning, competitive way.
He may be interested, but his all-round play is still poor. It is no coincidence that we have not won a single game where he has been in the midfield. He is great at breaking up play and getting booked but his distribution is woeful. 10 million? Snap their hands off.
we have around 40-50 thousand fans (most diehards and some fair weather and there's 40-50 thousand different opinions, fair enough?
It's also no coincidence all the highlights of Sunderlands attacking play on MOTD was Catts breaking up play on the edge of our box running forward then giving an incisive pass to the forwards. Also don't underestimate his high workrate also breaks up the oppositions play without having to make a tackle, if he had had some help in that dept yesterday we may not have been looking at defeat. Closing down is just as important as tackling imho.
There's only a handful of us mate it seems who think Catts is ok..(nowt special) but the captains armband may hold him back... Ok silly yellow cards...but no more daft than Ricco's for taking his shirt of, (knowing he'd be booked for it).
I will never defend Catts when he makes those odd stupid tackles, after all he is now old enough to know better. Thats what gets a lot of fans backs up which is completely understandable. But those odd rushes of blood shouldn't be allowed to take away from his overall contribution to SAFC imho.
Not saying he is a **** player (He aint as bad as Ethu was) but 10 million would be a very very good offer for him. I reckon we could get a much better player for that amount. @Mackemsrule: I dont rate his passing/distribution and havent done for quite some time now - I am not basing my opinion of him on one game. I wasnt a fan of his last season either.
Agreed mate, if a decent offer comes in, maybe for the best to part ways...But it has to be right, cos he's ok.
For me Cattermole is a liability. As soon as he get booked ( lets be honest..that nearly every game) his normal aggresive game has gone. He becomes inaffective and the oppostion just wind him up...we don't need players like that.
Just another difference of opinion between fellow supporters mate. If I had a penny for every argument I have had with mates over Sunderland players, after 50 years of it, I would be a very rich man. No venom or trying to score points off each other, just different views on the same player.
