He only switched to CM for about 5-10 mins. He went back to LM and snoddy went into CM where he played really well

He's a good LM/LB. Not sure he's tough enough in the tackle to be a genuine CDM. Let's hope that Brown & Howson recover in time for next week.

Looked comfortable in the middle of the park. Needs to play there more often, and undoubtedly will have to now Howson and Brown have got injuries.

Pugh is a decent LM that allows Aidy White to flourish.

    Not in a 4-2-3-1 though.

Who do you think provides the width in such a formation & who do you think provides the cover to allow White to provide this width?

Pugh played most of the match at CM, Snoddy played in CM when Howson went off but when Keogh came on Pugh went CM Snoddy on left n Sam on right

That would appear to give us a reasonable midfield. L to R. Snoddy, Pugh, Clayton Keogh, Sam. Still think I'd like to see Nunez on instead of Keogh, but only to give us a bit more of an attacking threat.

Boggers i liked Keogh n Becchio,

Keogh went for a lob which wouldve been a right goal :) but him n Becchio give us 2 target men but also 1 that is quick aswell as tall

Sam and Snodgrass look like the best options on the wings. White can overlap with Sam if necessary, and either Pugh can provide cover dropping back from central midfield or one of the centre-backs could move across. I don't think Pugh has the skill and mentality to be able to rag defenders on the wing, nor the technique to provide great crosses from deep. He sort of works well as a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2, but now we rightly look like ditching that, it's time for him to return to his natural position in the middle. I don't think it'll cause White to play any worse just because Pugh's been moved to the right a bit.

Fair enough 18. I think we're all arguing sermantics on NOT. So much more positive than some of the drival I've been reading elsewhere. 6 pts off 2nd, & currently continuing to move in the right direction.

Never mind Pugh, we need someone like Radebeer at the heart of our defence
