Its help if he just stood in place and dealt with it when we are leading.

    That's all that's asked.

I'd agree that the sub should actually be salah off not gakpo as he wasn't defending either. At least swap some forward over and tell them to plough dalot over.

Again I don’t like digging players out and I certainly don’t want to join in Trent bashing but his tracking back today was woeful
Needs sorting - once he is out of position - well you all know
    Crazy performance from him
Keep the shape and we win that game

I wasn't even referring to his defending with my comment. His passing was atrocious

It was every 5 minutes, absolutely pathetic today and annoyed at Slot for leaving it for 85 minutes.

We played the occasion in the end and that’s what you get, all over the place and a coin toss

Were they? All they did was give it to Dalot and left him 1v1. It’s not like they were playing 1-2s around TAA. They put a lot down his side but wasn’t overloading with players

It's only opposition fans that have been claiming it's over; tells you everything you need to know.

I've repeatedly said; if you can build a lead of X points in so many games, you can certainly lose it too

I think ideally once went 2-0, Nunez coming off would have been the sub! But you can’t sub Nunez off 10 minutes after coming on

    His whole game was atrocious.

It's well known that his defending isn't his strength and yes ManU targeted his and Salah side, but at the very least they both have to put the effort in. Can't think of a single time Trent won a 1-1 or even put a tackle in (he out muscled someone in the first 5mins I think, but after that nothing).

First thing Bradley does when he comes on is put a tackle in on the winger, set the tone. 2nd thing he did was drive forward, pushing Dalot back.

I don't think they particularly targeted that side, no more than any other team anyway.

Bradley is a much better defender but he can actually attack too. Just didn't have Trent's on ball abilities (not evidenced today)

That first goal is horrible to watch. As Bruno cuts in TAA stops (despite having no threat wide) Gravenberch is walking and Salah is walking.

All round that’s really poor from everyone

Well, the title isn't over, is it?

    My ratings:

Ally 6 : Great one-on-one stop in the first half - seems to get beaten by the pea-rollers like their 2nd a lot more than Kelleher though. Just saying.

Trent 3; No scapegoats, but he seems to think he has half an hour on the ball (or to get back) even in the most frenetic of games. Let's see how the Spanish press treat him when he defends like this for Real.

Robbo 5: Gave the ball away several times, and not much happening going forward, but was lucky Utd concentrated on Trent and not him.

Virgil 7: Our best defender, but missed a sitter imo.

Konate 7: Baptism of fire coming back and having to play two positions. Looked knackered and shaky at the end.

Gravy 5 tried the half-turn thing almost with every ball and got swamped in the first half when we lost the midfield. Better in the 2nd half, but should have covered Trent a lot more knowing he was having a total mare.

Jones 4 : As a Scouser, he knows what this means. Went missing and didn't improve in the 2nd half. Totally out of his depth.

Macca 8 : Our MoTM. played United on his own in that first half.

Gakpo 7: Iffy in the 1st half, but still looked our best forward when he scored. Not sure why he was taken off.

Diaz 5 : Bullied out of everything today. 1st time I've ever seen him give up - but he did.

Mo 7 : Sublime ball to Macca in the 1st half that should have been an assist. Dangerous in the 2nd half.

    Subs ;

Nunez 4 : Got booked for being a ****ing dickhead. No threat whatsoever.

Jota 6 : Some great turns and drives forward. Often too deep to do his fox in the box stuff.

Bradders 6 : Not only did he cut more crosses out than Trent, he was a bigger threat going forward. He can't hit 70 yard fishhook passes (yet), but I feel safer with him in the team.

Elliott; 5 : Didn't even get into the game.

Slot ; 6 Too scared to make the obvious decision. The politics in our club has to end. Otherwise, 1 point from an awful team performance, and it could have been well worse.

Bradley is just aggressive in his defending which gives you a lot more leeway as it doesn’t give people chance to get head up and make a decision. They’ll be times he gets done as a young player as he charges in and the best players will use his speed to go past him quickly.

It’s like I’ve said abo it TAA for a while and start this season he was far more aggressive. Getting close to people quickly and then you force them to do something to go past you rather than lazy defending. Today he went back to old ways and unfortunately his passing was so far off it that it made him look very very poor.

Overral TAA been good this year so hope whole fan base doesn’t jump on him over 1 performance but Bradley being back at least gives him something to think about.

Disappointing display but not a total disaster bearing in mind other results.

Atrocious weather was a leveller I thought......that 2nd half was all over the place

I'm not jumping on him - he is what he is, and that is what we all know: mercurial wizard on the ball - mediocre donkey off it. We'd be insane to to pay him £300k a week for the next 5 years. Just a pity we won't get any money for him if he goes in the summer, and realistically, if we're going for the title and the CL and a domestic cup this season we should keep him until the end of the season (unless we have a backup targeted this month - unlikely with they way FSG work).

Truth be told though, he's the go-faster stripe on performances when we're dominating and going to win anyway: when it's hand-to-hand combat in overrun trenches he's like a 10ft lance when you need a dagger. He'll suit Madrid.

I still blame FSG though - how did we ever let it get to this?
