We have had a few days of real positivity on here and its been good to see. Through it all we knew the problems we have, the pickle we are in but we decided the changes were good and we could get back to supporting our club. Today we lost, not a big surprise and despite the doom and gloom we still have a decent team, I assume O'Neil thinks that or why did he come? Brown is now getting stick of some but today he defended single handedly at times. We cant score goals, did we not already know that. Catts and Colback cant play together, was that a surprise. We still slate Bruce, he is gone, its the past. Is it so hard to move on, look forward and simple let O'Neil get on with doing his job, ours is to support and yes we all have opinions but I still find a rather undignified rush by some to jump on shouting ****ing crap. Now please enjoy tearing me apart, you know you want to.
Agree Syd we all know we have been terrible this season but tomorrow is a new day with a clean slate & a new manager. all we can do is give MoN our full support KTF & see where we are come may.
It was still his regime that picked the team and the tactics and made those Bruce-like substitutions. They are Bruces players and his leagacy with which MoN will have to forge a rescue act with. For the record, I think Brown has been our best player this season and if the caretaker picked Colback and Catts and it didnt work again what do we actually talk about? Eric Black dictated what the topics of conversation would be tonight not the fans. Next week, Martin takes over for real and ALL the discussion will about what HE does but for this weekend and for todays game, all we have are the facts and figures and Blacks team. Life isnt all sweetness and roses. An internet forum will reflect this and when there is something positive to discuss (as with the new manager) it wiil and has been all weekend. When we lose yet another game that will dictate the discusson. I'm not entirely sure whether its an internet forum on our football club you want, or just a mutually patting of the back exercise at times Syd?
Cest - I did say that the performance would still honk of the Bruce regime and that O'Neill would have next to no input. Nice that you now agree. 'Life isnt all sweetness and roses'? Good to see that you (and others) are starting to calm down after O'Neill's appointment
I thought this would have O'Neill's stamp all over it Cest? I do however agree with you on the second point, Syd doesn't like debate, he likes everyone to happy clap and talk about how good things are with each other.
I watched the whole of the game today and I'm surprised you lost. You looked decent on the break and to be honest, Wolves were awful until the last twenty minutes. But you need to get shot of Bendtner, he's a liability.
i must admit all the crap people wrote about how terrible the team were today is tosh, we were 1 kick away from winning this game 2-0! I must admit though the 1 minute between penalty save and their first goal made me really mad, but i would consider ourselves unlucky today.
Aye, but you aint ****ed her though eh? Has she got a shaven haven or a landing strip? Can't stand those overgrown hedges & busted mattresses. LOL.
Got to say watched the game today and thought a draw would have been a fair result, if not a Sunderland win. You looked a lot more dangerous going forward than Wolves.
Not after a pat on the back excercise and like discussion but reading some posts they are not discussion Cest, just more inane slagging. You want positive, take a look at Saturdays posts, look at the good players we have and look at the manager we have. Choice, happy clapper who supports his team or Newcastle fan who lives on the Sunderland board, happy clapper every time.
Baffles me as well syd, Saturday there was a thread about what the team would be and how we would play, and to a man we all said it would be the team that Bruce would have picked, so why all the surprise about getting beat yesterday? It all goes to show how big a job MON has to do and if he thought the team were a kick up the arse away from a good team yesterday proved it'll take more than his size tens to sort them out. We were poor for the whole of the second half first half we shaded it but, again it was the second half and going to sleep at the back which cost us. Yes we have a good defensive record but, I'd rather we won 6-5 than got beat 2-1. Happy days are here again etc.
I think the match and the result was us in a nutshell and O'Neill got a fair reflection of our pluses and minuses. We could have won but Bendtner was poor all of the game, Ji did start to get better in the 2nd half and our goal threat was Rico who did himself no harm with his overlapping and goal and Larsson. Larsson did dive and their 2nd goal was a handball. Catts got a silly yellow he was beaten for pace as usual, Sess buzzed around effectively but then seemed to tire. Brown was outstanding but as with Norwich, Manure, Wigan and yesterday one mistake cost us. Westy looked assured. So as we all know we have not replaced Bent i.e. we do not have a goal scorer (to early to say about Noble) and in CM neither Colback or Catts looked like they will ever score. So next Sunday lets see what MoN can do, unfortunately he cannot make a striker out of thin air, but as Catts is suspended next game (a blessing in disguise?) CM will have to be different, as the strikers cannot score goals have to come from midfield or Rico or Bardo speaking of Bardo I wish he had taken the pen.
