Ange ball last 56 games 116 goals boring Conte ball, his last 58 games 112 goals Smokes n mirrors the fans fall for it hook line n sinker always
Correct. We are easy targets at the moment and I'm looking forward to the Paddy Power videos landing tomorrow... The media always has loved the north west darlings so they hate any other narrative. I'm listening to Sky Sports and they're already selling Isak to the "massive clubs"....
The obvious difference is Kane. Conte had a generational goal machine. Ange has a collection of mid table attackers with one (Kulusevski) slowly developing into a top talent, but none of them come close to Harry's level. For me as I said last night the most important difference between the two managers is that the players are still playing for Ange. They'd abandoned Conte long before this stage of his career. That has to count for something. I.e. something more than Steven Pienaar on loan.
Results were much better under Conte than Ange though. Players liking the manager isn’t necessarily a good thing imo.
It depends and there is a fine line. For example I think the bond between Poch and the players was unhealthily close and too emotional. Made him blind to obvious problems and made the players stick around long after they'd lost their best form. Fwiw I think the board screwed Conte over massively, as per usual. That 2022/23 squad was a joke to give to a manager of his calibre. I also think he was irreversibly affected by the death of his close friends, Piero's death and his own fight with serious illness. I don't think he had it in him for much of his second season.
Yeah it's really boiling piss us not being **** anymore, so they need to know Newcastle have to sell Isak. They probably will sell any player for the right amount, but that's the same at any club. It's too soon for isak at any reasonable price... bought for 63 and has 3.5 years on his contract so they can just sell a few **** players instead to make the same margin.
You need to stop complaining and just get on with it. I understand that's not easy to stomach, but that's the reality. How many managers have you chased out ? Man united are doing the same. It's making our task easier I suppose. Ps I'm the worst ever for it so I'm talking from experience
We've seen enough examples of this in recent years. Sessegnon and Gil both signed for £30m+, one left for free and the other if he leaves at all will seemingly go for a £15m loss. We were very lucky Ajax were stupid enough to allow us to break even on Bergwijn. It's a huge risk once you cross that £30-40m initial investment.
Conte’s Napoli sat on top of Serie A all managers find success after leaving us We at Spurs should be renamed Levy FC the meddling twat Our fans get what they deserve chasing out serial winners as usual. Therefore I honestly don’t care if anyone stays or leaves our club, management or player I ****in hate supporting us because that by default is putting my trust in ENIC/Levy, I for one have crossed the bridge now and learnt not to have any faith in the regime.
I think most fans have by now. What's holding them back from open rebellion is the fear that while we pray for someone like Fenway to take us over, we could end up with the Glazers.
This is very true we will get all the ‘be careful what you wish for’ remarks and as much as I understand the sentiment I just see no way out of this ENIC/Levy model where we are not a football club anymore, I feel like walking away at times is my strongest stance. 41 years I’ve supported this club, will always love THFC but it just doesn’t feel like a football club to me anymore, nothing worse than supporting a club that are just happy to be participating. It’s clearly not meant for real fans anymore who aspire for glory, it’s about being entertained on the day for the day trippers RIP THFC
The injuries have killed your season just like with ourselves last season. You've got to take the rough with the smooth. The league is more difficult now.
I think failing to realise this is one of Levy’s biggest sins. He had lightning in a bottle with Poch and for any number of reasons it didn’t work out, but then muddled around with Nuno, Jose and Conte for a few years hoping with the latter two that the early 2000s formula of ‘great manager, good group of players with a bit of stardust’ would get him over the line somehow. In the last 20 years as the whole league has gotten richer, quality has increased dramatically across the board. From coaching, player recruitment, facilities and pitches in stadiums, backroom stuff like medical and nutrition. Watching clips from the early 2000s makes it feel like a different sport. Only now do we have a semblance of a long term plan and style of play but it’s not clear that the club is fully invested in Ange or that he’s the right horse to hitch our cart to. The latter is always an inherent risk but the former is the real issue. You need to stick with something for 2-3 summer windows and properly commit or you’ll keep getting picked apart by other sides with more coherent long term strategies and visions.
