I am just wondering as we are in some 3 year cycle that includes a year without cl football? Who knows. Delaying this long to allow them to just walk off doesn't make any sense
Bajcetic recall is on. Looks like we are going to negotiate him out of his year long deal that salzburg paid a fee for and move him to real betis.
Not necessarily. There could have been offers but Salah (and his agent) feel no progress as been made despite new offers arriving
Just remember where this appeared, in The Weekend Sport A headline of Freddie Starr ate my Hamster is more believable
£300k p/w for 5 years is steep, but that’s the world we live in now. The fact Real want him does raise his stock and all that goes with that. I’d rather he stayed and don’t do the books, so hopefully true I guess
300k seems the right amount tbh. For what he is, what he represents and his age etc. at least if true it puts the ball in his court. Moneys on the table, if doesn’t sign then clubs done what it can and TAA will have to cope with fact fans won’t be impressed
Why? There could have been plenty of offers but none of them satisfy Mo (or his agent) and that can be deemed as no progress. It can just mean they don't see eye-to-eye. As for knowing what he wants, so what? Give him what he wants or let him go? When do negotiations ever work like that? Do you honestly believe Hughes just sits in his office all day playing with himself? That's just absurd. Honestly, I don't understand why fans get so pissed off when we're not given a blow-by-blow account of everything that's happening behind the scenes, and then just fill in the gaps with wild speculation.
It doesn't really matter bar what we know is the timing now means the players are free to.sign tomorrow for any club they like. That can't be ignored and neither can the public words of salah. Again I can only conclude that, based on the club being rational and sane, either they don't want salah or cant afford him.
Those are two possible options, but there may be more. As I alluded to, negotiations can take many different courses. Also, I wouldn't put it past Mo to be acting cute here - saying publicly that they're far away from an agreement knowing that that will make the fans anxious and that puts pressure on the club to find a solution.
Mito, with respect, you’ll go mad if you try to second guess the positions of both parties with all of the variables involved. I do appreciate that this is a forum where we all like to speculate but be careful not to assume too much…..nobody knows the details and the few words from Salah refer to nothing in-particular. There are multiple filters and we have little information. For example, running contracts down is more common these days, especially if prior offers are perceived as too low and players/agents feel that they can max out value using this tactic. This could potentially mean that the actual ‘damage’ was done 18m to 2 years ago….and nothing to do with the current management incumbents as you suggest. Not one of the three has criticised the club and management. All have indicated, in different ways, that they’d like to stay…..let’s see what they can thrash out. We have no choice, frankly.
Players rarely ever actually sign for clubs on Jan 1st on a pre contract. It’s not really in their interest unless. if any of them sign for other clubs now would dent the relationship and also close off any avenue of getting better deal at current club.
It's only in the case that the club they want have given what they want. So big names going to say real would normally be known pretty quick. They are running a risk though. One bad tackle and they are goosed. If you sign the agreement then you at least have thet surity.
