First time I saw Young it was obvious he was going to be something special, only surprise for me was that we loaned him out this season. As I was with Watson I cant wait to see him make his debut, Next season he will be our first choice No I imo.
Got a message of a mate who was at the game today, said Young was class and just looked levels above everyone. So composed for young GK Says he will be shocked if he doesn't go and play for England one day
I'm sure there's a 15 yr old in tbe academy who is meant to be class, can't mind his name at all though. Sure he played for the U18s a couple times at the end of last season
That's it, knew the surname began with a C just couldn't mind it for the life of me Don't think he's featured for the U18s this season tho, hopefully he gets some game time before the end of the season
We got decent money for him as well Shame he didn't stay with us buy suppose if Young is smashing it in the age group above then may have decided better to move elsewhere
I posted this back at the end of last season: https://not606.com/threads/sunderlands-roster-of-keepers.412837/ The academy has been blessed with good keepers in recent years with Patto and Pickford being the two obvious ones but the lad who went to Liverpool, the Polish lad we had for a few years, a young lad from New Zealand who was sold to the Dutch leagues, the Irish lad as well who I think plays for Bohemians now, we've got a nice production line and many of these lads go on to be pros.
the keeper Coventry had until last season was a Sunderland academy player as well wasn’t he? Can’t remember his name. Wilson?
i know a few don't really like the loan game but these lads are getting some great experience and mainly getting excellent reviews...all good stuff for the club.
