Son and Maddison on, Werner and Johnson off I think. Would be good to get Sarr off as well but his replacement would be bissouma. It doesn’t help though that when you are in the game, every decision seems to go against you. Bergvall a definite positive from that half though.
But guess who will be wearing a really bad disguise when popping down their local bookies on Monday morning?
This kinda sums the club up. We have what appears to be a more than decent hg keeper rotting in the wings and we spend money on a new GK when we have holes all over the pitch....
bearing in mind how screwed we are, and how we knew today was going to be tough, I don’t think we’ve been that bad. Newcastle don’t look great at the back, so if we can just not pass to Werner, we might have a chance. but as you say, the officiating has been really poor. Dan burn shouldn’t be on the pitch.
Yeah he’s not having a great game. We’re struggling to get much out of the wingers. Werner is Werner and Johnson tucks in too much which actually helps Newcastle stay compact. He needs to stay wider when the balls on the other side to give a better option and stretch their back line out a bit. Obviously frustrated with the refereeing of this one. Bergvall is having a decent showing though. But ahead of him we’re struggling to make it stick. I wonder if he’ll move Johnson to the left, Kulu to the right and bring Maddison in just to give us a more reliable ball player in the middle of the park. Timing of it probably depends on how many minutes Maddison and Sonny have in them, given they’re both ill.
2nd best all over the pitch, should make changes, Maddison who can't play Wed should replace Kulu who can. Other than that give the kids a go they can't be any worse.
Notice how our goal came from two things too: Porro playing like a proper FB by whipping in a cross and not playing like the inverted spastic Ange tends to prefer. Solanke staying central, I’ve noticed he’s been doing this a lot more in recent weeks and it’s paying off with more goals. In the first 6-7 weeks of his Spurs career he was being praised for pressing like a headless chicken which I just couldn’t wrap my head around, staying more central means he’s a bigger goal threat and we’re now “benefitting” from it… just a shame we’re generally **** and his goals are counting for nothing.
Dragusin off for Reguilon. He was one of the people that was suffering from illness. Admirable he played but maybe shouldn’t have done if he wasn’t 100% fit. Our CB partnership is now Spence and Gray
