Hopefully we'll give them something to think about instead of "bowing down" to them like we did the almighty Middlesbrough eh, scared to leave our own penalty box
Kamara saying he should have thought a bit more... and that the players have said just to keep his head down...
The more I see of that Sellés/Kamara interview with Mike White the more I cringe and think it’s a bit over the top. He was at fault for the goal and the social media post was unfortunate given the timing, but it’s just a bit weird to cart a young player out for this ritual of repentance. If it was just about the social media comment, I can understand it a bit more but Mike White even grilled him about the Boro goal and whether he wants to be here. Who else in the squad has had to front up to the media like that? Has anyone from Radio Humberside or the HDM given Coyle a struggle session for his piss-poor form? Has Cooper or White interviewed Slater grilling him about missing three sitters against Wednesday, Swansea and Blackburn? I think this whole thing has took a weird turn and makes the club look even more ridiculous than it currently is. Players have been done for drunk driving or doing drugs and not been subjected to this. We criticise on here because we’re supporters venting about **** performances but I still don’t expect a public apology from a player every time they have a **** game.
The apology for the Instagram comment and White’s line of questioning about the goal are unrelated though. White’s got a job to ask difficult questions. He wouldn’t be a journalist if he didn’t ask difficult questions. I just don’t know why the club has carted Kamara out for an interview. This whole thing could’ve been solved just as easily with a Instagram post by Kamara explaining himself. I don’t know what purpose having him and Sellés do an interview looking like a naughty boy with his dad in the head teacher’s office other than the club looking ridiculous and mean-spirited. It’s unnecessary.
Do we know that Kamara wasn't happy to do it to nip all the discussion in the bud? Maybe Selles spoke to him and asked if he wanted to get the chance to defend himself?
I agree it is over the top, but sadly, fans go over the top and it became a situation where he was probably getting abuse that would continue. So I can see how it helps allow him to breathe a bit. I thought the questioning was too much and verged on ridiculous, especially when Baz started trying to ask wider points about social media, he's 21 and just entered a very weird situation ffs. On the plus side, he came through it well!
