No matter what league or game you watch you’ll only see reds for penalties for handball on line or serious foul play.

I know what the literal rule is, but I watch enough games to know it simply doesn’t happen.

I said they are good players. One was league 1 played of the year and most in our league wanted. The others is a cultured left back, again who is silly highly rated.

If a player had been sent off, for grappling at a corner, it would stand out and people would remember it.

It’s a pretty odd debate this. Prehab was right that the players were good players and Smug is right that it didn’t matter. That’s with the benefit of hindsight of course.

To be fair, calling it grappling at a corner is minimising how obvious it was. It wasn’t from the corner anyway. It was a very clear pull back as a player is attempting a shot just outside the 6 yard box. It very rarely happens mostly because players often aren’t that stupid to do it. Doesn’t change the fact that it was a red card offence whether refs give them or not. Much in the same way Dan Neil’s was versus Boro last season. Both of them would seem harsh but both correct by letter of law.
