But they made absolutely no difference and didn't change the game ...

    ... that's my point.

Yeah. This game they didn't. My post made reference to them being very good players. That was my point. You choose to state that they made little difference.

I’d be worried if Luke, at CB, didn’t try to cut out that cross.

What they call a ‘racing incident’ in formula 1, a failing that was nobodies fault and from good intention.

Because they didn't ... or are you saying they did?

You commented on them in the context of the game, not generally.

Did nowt wrong with the cross at all.

The pen mortal combat move was pathetic and luckily not a red card offence. Played great second half mind.

Doesn't change the fact that they are good players though?

Think most of not all in the league would have them both. Only rested due to being played excessively in previous games and knocks. I am happy the result went in our favor of course, but both very very good players.

Aye. Plenty he did wrong first half but the O.G was just unfortunate.

Luke all over that he comes out second half and is a new man. Seen it time and time again his mentality.

Yeah. Amazing human TBF. My friend does a bit with him with his side business. Top lad. He has maximised everything he could in his career so far.

When have you ever seen a player sent off in those circumstances ...

... I can't remember a single occasion but please prove me wrong.

Since the rule change, it could have been a red, easily. Not double jeopardy rule, you have to make an honest attempt to play the ball. He literally stopped a goal scoring opportunity without playing the ball.

You won’t be sent off for giving away a penalty.

People can say didn’t try to play the ball but that rule is NEVER considered now.

I can’t think of an example but if the ref gives a penalty for that he absolutely should be sending him off as well. O’Nien undeniably denied him a goal scoring opportunity. Letter of the law and all that.

You were commenting on the match thread, during the match, so clearly thought how good they were would make a difference ...

... they made no worthwhile contribution.

Or are you claiming your comment had nothing to do with the match thread you were posting on?

You can if there is no genuine attempt to play the ball.

Yes you can. It’s the rules. It’s only not a red if it’s an attempt to play the ball.

That's because there aren't any examples.
