Everyone else is wound up as far as I can see. I am genuinely relaxed about our current predicament. Football is a sport...I try to enjoy it!
Think that's an unfair assessment tbh. I've only been to three league games ... all category c cos the cost of other games is prohibitive. I've been to all our cup games cos they are all priced between £35 and £45. Category A games have a minimum price of £71 plus booking fee. I don't like the prices of premier league games but don't think "well don't go" is an ok response.
I agree that prices are unfair on the poorer fans but I don't think we are any different to most other clubs in that respect. Anyway @Dier Hard 's point was that he didn't think the quality of the football warranted the price. He is clearly entitled to that opinion but I don't think directing venom at the owners is the right response to that.
It was a mistake originally...it was supposed to be another early composer, Thomas Weelkes but there don't seem to be any likenesses of him. He was a very highly thought of cathedral Organist and composer. So highly thought of that he was warned but not sacked, for urinating on the Dean from the organ loft during Evensong.
But there is venom. I was at the United match and venom is the only word that fits. I don't think it's just one thing like finishing 5th 6th or 7th. It's cos we have seen a worse brand of football while paying more. It's cos lower income fans feel forced out of going to games. It's cos we've made moronic manager choices. Like was Nuno or Conte EVER going to bring back entertaining football after JM? It's cos we are having our worst run of results over the last 12 months since 2008. It's cos we've gone 17 years with winning a trophy. The last time that happened was between 1921 and 1951. There were only 2 trophies back then and a world war. In fact we've only gone this long without a trophy from 1882 to 1901 (while we're a non league team), 1901 -1921 (which is actually 15 years if you take the 1st WW into account) and 1921 to 1951. I've listed all the avoidable mistakes the club have made but have also made it clear that I support Ange staying. If he is sacked I will have no time for the board. Personally, I don't expect trophies but I do expect football to be exciting and good to watch which is why Ange has my support despite his mistakes and results.
Directing venom at the people that set the prices isn’t the right response? Who else is meant to face the criticism then? They charge premium prices for a subpar product.
Criticism is fine. Venom isn't...no-one deserves that. It's just a sport...people are trying their best and deserve to be treated properly.
I know there is venom...doesn't mean it is right. Nearly half the fans in the stadium wouldn't be there without the current owners. Me included.
Taken from Wiki: Towards the end of 1538 Tallis moved to a large Augustinian monastery, Waltham Abbey in Essex,[19] after he had come into contact with the abbot, whose London home was near to St Mary-at-Hill.[20] At Waltham, Tallis became a senior member. [19] When the abbey, too, was dissolved in March 1540, Tallis left without receiving a pension. I assume Levy's great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather was the CEO of Waltham Abbey at the time?
No the whole point of football is to win. Otherwise they wouldn’t keep score. Scoring lots of goals is pointless when you don’t win enough games.
When I accidentally chose Tallis's picture I had no idea that he was local to Spurs....I only found that out when visiting Waltham Abbey last January. The image comes up in a search for Weelkes because there was a publication featuring works from both composers.
