Any professional footballer and potential signing that watched that display last night must be thinking ‘**** that’. It’s going to have to be a really hard sell or very expensive in the way of fees and wages to get the calibre of players that we need to make a difference.

How the actual **** have we ended up in this position with the money we’ve spent? I can only assume that there has been a massive amount of corruption with pockets lined, no names but I think we all have our suspicions of what’s actually gone on.

Acun being an idiot and going all in on the least competitive season in recent times, leading to the majority of our team being loans or short term signings we had no hope of keeping and then not future proofing the squad?

It's old ground, but I still don't think that decision needed to cause us as much trouble as it ultimately has. We could've replaced the players we lost, some of whom we'd have actually been fairly comfortable letting go if we're objective and take away the emotion of this season being much worse. We didn't need to make such a mess of things in the summer as a result of going hard last season. We had money to spend but for whatever reason we didn't use it as well as we could have, and most importantly we made a horrendous managerial change. If we'd kept Rosenior or replaced him directly with Selles instead of Walter, there's no way we'd be where we are now.

Yep of last seasons goals all we have left is Slater 2, Coyle 1, Jones 1.

Criminal levels of squad building. Walter and Selles have been set up to fail
And although pandur had been here 6 months he was an untried keeper
Thankfully after preseason jitters he’s done well
All the ingredients to make a **** up cake.
In a few years time I think Walter will reflect on his time here and think why didn’t I walk out

I agree. However, a lot that remained weren’t really goal scorers anyway. Coyle Jones especially. Slater chipped in every now and then.

Point I’m making is that these players that are getting slated now were doing a fine job last season in an “underachieving” team. It just feels a bit hypocritical in some aspects
I get where you're coming from, and there's a solid point there, when we look at he players who are playing this year and last year too tho, most of them came in for their fair share of flak previously, maybe not Jones, but certainly Jacob, Giles, Macca, Coyle, Slater were called out a number of times whilst players like Simmons, Longman and Vaughan were shipped out on loan for not being up to standard....strangely the one constant who barely came in for any criticism last year was Omur who's had nothing but criticism this year, and rightly so.

I imagine Walter was sold the world before they got him to move his family here.

He was ****e during his time here but my god did they sell him short.

that doesnt make sense though

there was zero chance we kept most of our goals, the only realistic goalscorer we perhaps could have kept is tufan

we needed new signings to score

Omur has had a dramatic drop. He looked bright in last years team. I don’t know if maybe losing his mate tufan has affected him or if he’s another victim of changing systems but he’s dropped

Oh ok
And drameh??
For all the stick Coyle is getting he played ok at left back imho and as plt has said before can put a ball in with his left.
And I thought drameh was poor again!
So Coyle is the best left and right back at the club!!
Full backs don’t get you relegated
The centre of midfield however…
Do all the blowing smoke up the arse of slater puerta and alzate you want did they get into boro? No

Commentary suggested that was tactical, so that we had a left-footed left back, given Coyle nearly gave a pen away after getting wrong footed

why would tufan going have such an effect?
he never played at club level with tufan ever

Player speaking a familiar language in a new environment. I think a lot underestimate how hard it is for some foreign players to adapt to England especially if it’s not near a major city with nice attractions.

hes just not as good as a player as we thought
fact

theres turkish in the staff and sinik anyway

give over

I really don't understand this desire some seem to have to give him the benefit of the doubt. With the same players (except more are injured now) Selles has almost immediately achieved mid-table form. Walter had us rock bottom, losing every week and not even fighting any more. It is absolutely clear that he was the problem and Selles was the solution.

We have some problems in the squad and off the pitch, no doubt. But we never should've been bottom of the league and Selles has quickly proven that.

we wouldnt be a play off team, but any half decent manager from august, would have us 15th-16th at least

I’m not privy to anything but it’s not an unreasonable stretch to say that the connection with Tufan may have helped him acclimatise
