People are getting a bit carried away now.

We were ****, we couldn't deal with the press of a very good side who forced us further and further back. There are some clear issues but it doesn't have to mean that everything about the team is rotten, in the same way that winning two of the previous three didn't mean that everything about the team was elite.

We dont have the goals to stay up im afraid

If we'd have held on another 30 seconds we'd be saying 'outplayed but what a gritty performance to secure a much needed point', as it is the outcome was the fair result.

The way we're playing under Selles at the moment is going to throw up these kind of results - as it did at Blackburn; some we'll nick, some we won't.
This. It is pragmatic football designed to grind out results - stay narrow and defend crosses well. Nearly worked.

Rewriting history to suit your ego fuelled opinion .

QPR & Stoke, we were bang average & lucky to win both. Burnley we managed 2 shots on target.

Zambrano didn’t start v Burnley or QPR. Millar was our 2nd worse rated player v Burnley, only Jones worse.

All 3 games we could easily have lost, probably should have & definitely would have if it wasn’t for Pandur.

We didn’t have a single “great game” under Walter. You’d struggle to highlight a great half. Maybe Stoke 2nd half at best.

Millar’s performance against Burnley was poor, it was after that game he started to pick up. Him and Belloumi were just getting going when the injury hit.

Millar ruptured his acl 10 mins into the game v burnley

And was subbed after 12 mins

Why did we look so exhausted last night?

Is it due to two games of having to chase the ball?

3rd game in 7 days.
They also looked knackered but have a way better squad than ours which explains why we are 22nd and they are 5th.
Boro are better than us and deserved to win.
We won’t beat Leeds on Saturday either and it could get very ugly so people need to be prepared for that.

To be fair I’ve said consistently that there are parts of this squad that just aren’t good enough on a consistent basis. I am being harsh, I know, but when I look at most other teams’ respective players in those positions, I find myself envious.

You’re right, it’s not everything and there is *some* quality in the squad, but the combination of poor quality, low confidence and until recently, a crap manager hasn’t painted a brilliant picture.

I have confidence in Selles, I can already see a difference (even yesterday), but my worry is that while we remain capable of whatever yesterday was, we’re in the ****.

Its simply coming down to if we can bring in someone who can help us score

We are the lowest scorers in the league
2 less than the next lowest (cardiff, and theyve played a game less)

We cant rely on grinding out clean sheets

22 goals in 25 games is not enough to keep us up
Needs to change big time or we are down

Yeah he was, apologies, I thought it was Sunderland he got injured. Even so, he didn’t start brilliantly and got better the more he played.

Which is more worrying about Kamara because he hasn’t.

I really want Kamara to come good and I think he has the ability to do so, but at the moment he’s only in the team because he has to be. I’d be furious if I was Jarvis or Hall (I know he’s out on loan at some god forsaken mining village’s working men’s club).

Did Walter sneak back into the training ground and make them all do a 10km cross country run the day before the game...

We do, we need to find somebody who isn’t expensive, but has a good goal scoring record.

Shankland, I guess.

Yep still his fault

was puerta and Drameh both injured?
Drameh was poor but why take puerta off unless he was injured.

also if we’re going to hold on and just hoof the ball why the **** didn’t the manager bring Burns on the last fifteen!???
Vaughn did quite well but it achieved **** all we weren’t going to score a goal

we definitely needed another centre back to bolster the defence
Point dropped

Because Selles is currently relying on the same 11 for every game in the busiest part of the season. When we get to 1 game a week again we’ll be much better providing we aren’t already cut off from the rest of them by that point

Define big recruitment. I can't see us signing 8 or 9 players. For me the desperate need is 2 strikers, followed by a decent LB and a midfield thug (or 2)

You cant possibly speak for every fan and I would argue that our better players understood it perfectly, hence the great performances at QPR, at home to Burnley, Stoke away where we had Millar (only QPR) Belloumi, Zambrano, Jones and an in form Simons in those matches. Mehlem looked OK and seemed to get it. Macca was trying his hardest to make it work.

It wasn't just luck that we beat two sides away from home 1-3. We lost 3 of those players and pretty much our whole attacking ability went with Belloumi and Millar. Replaced by Kamara!!!

As I've said, Tim was guilty of being too stubborn to sit with two banks of 4 and accept that he can't play that style with crap like Slater and Kamara in the team but he didn't and it cost him. He might have got to this point and be able to bring in some quality. We will never know.

If he'd got to this point we would be well adrift of the rest by now and Wally would have beaten McCann's record of 1 win in 21. Thankfully we will never know.

I'd read my post again. Your reply is clear evidence of why you can only really have a normal conversation with about 20% of people on here as so many just don't bother to read things correctly.

Presumably that is because 80% disagree with your fawning assessment of the tactical genius that is Tim Walter?
