Happy New Year! Wishing you all the very best in the year ahead – good health, abundant happiness, and prosperity. Here are the latest headlines from Elland Road. Harrison's loan spell could end abruptly if Toffee's land Turkish ace Jack Harrison's loan spell at Everton could come to an abrupt end if as expected, they bring new recruits in later this month. Under new ownership, the Toffee's are ready to splash the cash, and have already identified Turkish International Yunus Akgun as a replacement. The 24yo currently applies his trade with Galatasaray where he has already netted ten times this season and picked up four man-of-the-match awards. Harrison has not found the back of the net in ten months, and is yet to make a significant contribution to Sean Dyche's team in just under a thousand minutes of game time this season. Integrating Given that the Toffee's don't even pay Leeds a loan fee, the Merseyside outfit may just keep Harrison on the bench, but what happens if Everton deem him surplus to requirements? Reintegrating him to life at Elland Road won't be easy. The Elland Road faithful may have forgiven Gnonto, Aaronson and Wober, but surely the former Manchester Utd rookie has crossed the line to no return! please log in to view this image Farke planning Elvedi reunion Leeds United are reportedly eyeing a reunion for Daniel Farke with his former Borussia Monchengladbach player, Nico Elvedi. Elland Road officials have identified the need for defensive reinforcements, and the 56 capped Swiss ace fits the bill. Elvedi is familiar with Farke's tactical approach having worked under him, and could offer experience and stability to the Leeds backline. The 28-year-old centre-back is available for £10m, which is well within Leeds grasps. It does however raise question marks that Wober or Struijk may be exiting the club to make way for Elvedi. please log in to view this image
Morning all. Re The January transfer activity I’d be nearly more interested in what our fellow contenders get up to. At half way we’re best in division but we know we won’t be strengthening with any signings or highly unlikely. So how many short of us are say the blunts or Burnley. We saw Ipswich make additions like Moore last January and was possibly the difference between them and us in the end. Wilder constantly moaning about his small squad so can see them having a go. As for Harisson we’ll have no choice but to welcome him back but hope his mother is never allowed near Elland road again
Surely Harrison's loan would be a season long deal, so doubt he'll be leaving Everton. Don't think it will be a surprise to anyone to see Wober leave, so would make sense to get a replacement in first, whether it's this lad for £10m we'd have to wait and see. *man city matt
Find it extremely hard to forgive any of the deserters who left, even Aaronson despite his efforts since he came back. Like Gessa, would expect it to be a season long loan - so hopefully it won’t be a problem till next summer. Happy for us to bring in some defensive cover, irrespective of Wober going or staying. Bringing in someone who knows the playing style, a bonus.
All I want for 2025 is Ryan Kent .....this lad fully deserves some kind of position at elland road after years of disappointment and heartache, come on in Ryan you've finally done it .....oh and putting the rovers to the sword it's about time we finally leathered someone
Here’s another stat for our tacticians to look up. I’d be interested. As far as I can remember the team who has scored most goals every season has been promoted. We’re already a country mile ahead in that department
Can't see Harrison coming back Everton basically have a player for nothing. only way he will come back is if there's been a falling out Harrison also will know he won't be welcomed back so he might as well stay put so why would he kick up a fuss. Can't see Wober leaving also as he's not been playing and we won't get his market value. A loan just doesn't make sense as it's actually hurting ourselves in letting him go out on loan. Why would we spend 10m on a replacement when we have a capable player already here. Personally I don't see us doing much business but if Gelhardt and Bammers go we will surely bring in one. Wrexham seem really interested in Bamford who's reportedly willing to take a wage cut but again its all gossip like everything else.
I'll bust that fact/myth for you Eire. The season we won the Championship in 2019/20 with WBA and Fulham also being promoted, the top goal scorers in the league were Brentford. They scored 80 goals, 3 more than ourselves and WBA and 16 more than Fulham. Top goalscorers in 2015/16 were Burnley, Brighton and 9th place Brentford. Brighton lost in the play offs, so of the 3 only Burnley got promoted. 2 seasons earlier, Derby finished 3rd and were top goalscorers with 84 goals and lost in the play offs. So for the last 10 seasons, 7 times the leagues top goal scorers have all been promoted
FWIW Jack Harrison is on £90k a week. Everton are paying all of that. Sending him back would save them approx £2.5 million in wages. If he came back to us we would pay him around 50% of his salary at Everton due to relegation clauses in his contract. His contract runs until 2028.
Afternoon all I would imagine Harrison would look for a move elsewhere if Everton can send him back, I hope so as out of all of them he is the one that I find really annoying
I've just edited my reply to Eire, re top goalscorers over last 10 seasons. 2014/15 season, Middlesboro had the best defence, conceding 37 goals and lost in the playoffs. 2018/19 season, both Sheffield Utd and Middlesboro had the best defence, conceding 41 goals. Middlesboro didn't even make the playoffs. Other than that the team with the best defence over the last 10 seasons have been promoted.
Although to be 100% certain, the team with the most points in the last 10 seasons, have all been promoted
Sorry but I don’t get it. !!!!!! I don’t get it that we all know that teams that come to LS11 are going to defend, So why do we play with a back four?? A back 3 would suffice …..Ampadau …. Rodon …. Struijk Put four in MF and 3 up front. It’s not rocket science Mr Farke or s it? As for Harrison he can fek off big style.
