    Shocking manager

Can't see him getting a championship job again, did ok at Derby but had a class assistant - been shocking at his next 3 clubs and made them all a lot worse

Not the best pundit either. Maybe he should do some charity work with the elderly.

    Incredible he lasted that long.

He just needs to stop. It isn’t for him.

This should really put paid to this kind of appointment, but it won’t.

The likes of Rooney only turn to management because they’re bored and too dim witted to become pundits. Meanwhile some who dedicate themselves to coaching badges, and actual research on modern management, are ignored because they don’t have ‘the name and charisma’ <doh>

Managers like Rooney are a quick fix that may get results for a while but there’s no substance behind the smile …

… he’ll become another Gascoigne who loves himself much more than the game.

No surprise, terrible manager. Should never ever have been appointed in the first place

Should stop at home with his missus...waste of space in football management.

Better now rather than later, he's made them worse to be fair. He's just not a motivator or a manager.

I'd imagine Plymouth go for one of their former managers Lowe or Schumacher

I am not surprised Rooney has gone. I am a little surprised he hasnt proven to be a bettee coach though. I saw him at Derby and I was quite impressed. I realise he had an excellent number 2, but he carried himself well. He spoke really clearly about his game style, he made very astute subs and I thought some of his in game mgt was good. The players spoke well of him too, as did others around the club.

Since then it has been 1 car crash after another for him. I suspect this is the last we see of him in this country, for a long while anyway. If Phelan were prepared to go with him into a league one or two club it may still work out, but I dont really see it. Plenty of other head coaches out of work with a markedly better CV.

I could see Rooney making a good assistant or something like a Dodds role, he seems to have been popular with the players and fans and does have loads of top quality experience. You'd be mad to hire him as head coach though.

I couldn't agree less with that tbh, he'd simply undermine the head coach imo.

Maybe. Wouldn't know until it was tried though. I don't see many more options for him if he intends to carry on working in football.

To be honest mate, I don't care if I never see him again ...

... he's a really boring man who'd encourage me to move seats if I had an SC next to him.

Friend of mine who lives in Gosport thinks that John Mousinho could be on the verge of going, one more all round bad performance and hes gone

and it appears most Luton fans want Edwards gone too

crazy to think Beale was here this time last year
