Thoroughly disappointing yesterday. A draw would have flattered stoke. Things only need a bit of tinkering and top 2 still on,.imo.

We'd need to be taking points off the three above us though.

We could definitely do with a bit of help and knowhow at the top end of the pitch - crucial for games like yesterday. A bit of aerial presence to attack crosses would be great.

Ipswich got promoted with Marcus Harness playing more games than Mayenda will for us.

What’s your point? Harness has plenty of experience and is a better player than Mayenda

He’s got plenty of lower league experience and I’m not sure that many would be so convinced that he’s better. Mayenda is doing better this season for instance.

The point is that claiming that we can’t possibly get promoted with Mayenda in the squad is exaggerated nonsense. While I certainly don’t expect it, the truth is that we ARE competing for promotion with players like Mayenda playing. And far worse players have been involved in promotion squads before - and will again.

Good food for thought re: comparing Harness to Mayenda. Similar goals and assists over similar minutes. 965 for Harness over all of 23/24 and 992 so far EM.

Mayenda is 19 and Harness was 27.

 

Harness had spent virtually all his career in league one at that point too.

 

Tbf to your point, there was probably worse players than Harness playing games for Ipswich too. It’s incredible the job McKenna done there.

 

At the risk of sounding bitter what’s happened to the time wasting issue, seems to reverted to 1 minute in the first half and 4 at the end. Their keeper went round high diving his fill back four everytime it went out

 

You are right, we need depth in a quality way, not just numbers.
As has been said many time we just cant keep relying on the kids
