Their success rate with signings from around 2016-2019 needs to be studied. Think they made about 15 signings in that period and around 10 or 11 were either good or phenomenal. Must have had the equivalent to about 7 Son/ Bale/ Modric level signings in a 3 year spell. Bonkers.
Their academy productivity has been a huge bonus for them too. I think their business two summers ago was also very, very good. Szozb and McAllister both top players. Gravenberch and Endo excellent additions to the squad.
You are arguing against a straw man. Money doesn't guarantee success but not having it almost guarantees failure apart from the odd one off. Liverpool have had the sort of recent transfer success that we had to acquire Poch's team. That won't last either.
Untrue. Direct investment by club owners into on-pitch CAPEX/OPEX (transfer fees, wage costs) is in violation of UEFA FFP rules, Those rules were in effect long before Conte arrived at Spurs,
I think the 150m was a capital investment rather than used to buy players. I could be wrong though as RBDB states, it would breach the rules.
A good place to start is the club announcement of the investment on 24.05.2022, which specifically mentions it being for squad investment...
https://blasermills.co.uk/insights/article/uefas-sustainability-rules But fear not, I'm sure nobody : 1. at UEFA 2. who despises Spurs and/or their owners has noticed what ENIC have done.
I knew about the 150m cash injection but had no idea where it was spent but I’m surprised to hear it was intended to buy players. I’m not disputing anything as I’m a not au fait on the details.
That "squad investment" cannot mean UEFA FFP "squad cost" . Which by definition means nothing of consequence to the acquisition and paying of players.
That he knows the club printed "squad investment" in a public statement, but cannot tell us of his own accord what it actually means.
