Fantastic home win, far better than anything I had been hoping for. Well done the lads and well done Nathan Jones (for a change). I'll wait for the end of the January transfer window before changing my opinion of Methven and SE7 however.
Well done to the players for three consecutive wins. It’s still not too late to put a run together to get promoted. If Wycombe are a Championship team, I’m a Keir Starmer fan
Have just got home and we really deserved the win. It was a messy first half but we really stepped up in the second half. Great cross from Edwards that Leaburn got his long legs to. The second Leaburn goal was pure class with a lob over the keeper. The whole team put in a real shift. The defence was excellent with an unlikely star in Gillesphey. Wycombe looked poor with the exception of Kone who took his goal well. We need to keep this run together as the players confidence is growing.
A very good second half. The players look much happier playing proper football. Looked a proper team, all playing for each other. The back 3 were all excellent, won everything in the air, and if wasn't for Leaburn's brace Gillesphey would have been my MOM. We also had the unusual sight of Coventry joining in the attack near the end, although tbf it's not his strong point. If we've abandoned hoofball for good there's no doubt our season isn't finished yet.
We are up to 9th tonight, 4 points off the Play Offs. Imagine the positive effect a couple of quality signings would make in January - Championship-standard players that we are still crying out for in goal, midfield and out wide. Despite the many errors made by SMT, Jones and the players, promotion is still very do-able. Now is the time for the investors to loosen the purse strings with the transfer window about to open, although there’s big question marks about whether NJ & Scott could be trusted to spend it wisely.
