Think pretty much everyone has already come to terms with fact TAA will be off in the summer.

If he helps us win a prem then fair enough, go and do whatever. Will be a shame but club will move on.

Do wonder if it’s the reason salah and vvd haven’t been sorted and confirmed yet. If still trying to get 100% answer from TAA as announcing the other 2 and agreeing will surely make everyone question why TAA hasn’t signed and almost give away the fact he’s going?

No, it doesn't mean he doesn't want to stay either, as we're doing double negatives. :emoticon-0138-think

Could well be something in that, as it would make things awkward

Now that Trent has apparently told the club his wishes, it’s time to move on quickly. Finding a playmaking midfielder with a great passing range becomes pretty important now, plus a quality RB, preferably one that can stop a cross from time to time.

and sign up the other two pronto ffs. I suspect that they all were wanting to match the highest earner so no this is done, should be easier to sort.

A bit earlier than this last year, we were going great and then we had Jurgens news. It derailed us in the end. Hopefully the club have learnt that we need some positivity now.

Being denied over here but we’ll find out very soon now either way as I suspect if it is real then we’ll need to get in with it as you say, and if it isn’t then Trent and his camp will be a bit pissed off

there’s no smoke without fire. I don’t like the way it’s been done, we’re in all comps still. I hope that he realises just how fickle the Madrid crowd can be.

he might be perfect for Madrid, feeding the forwards but they already have a few players who don’t want to defend, I suspect he’ll be targeted.

He's already a cult hero there after gifting them a CL trophy.

If he has his mind set on leaving what would you expect anyone to do about it?

    Deal with it.

How long was he stringing the club along for? We don't know.

How long did Hughes have last summer?

Plenty of time. We all know the score. Sign or sell. If he's supposedly a ruthless person then don't be telling me this him being ruthless with the 3 players.

This is abject failure in the making.

But again trent is in for a massive massive shock and he will have to cuddle his money cos like others he will never be looked at the same way ever again.

    That's the salient point.
Pointless conjecture gets us nowhere - we have no idea how much effort was made to persuade him. Besides, as far as I'm concerned, just like any other player - if he doesn't want to be here I don't want him here.
No big deal. Not worth anyone getting their knickers in a twist over.

    The point is:

if we made zero effort then it's hughes fault.

If we made every effort and allowed ourselves to be strung along then it's huges fault.

If we have half arsed it to see if we can get to a new financial year or whatever then again who's fault is it?

We need smarter work that this. As I said hard deadlines of 1st August. No sign then bye. String it out and you don't play much.

Let’s be honest none of Salah vvd or TAA were signing new contracts 12 months ago after Klopp announced he was leaving. And I can’t blame them one bit for it.

you’d want to see who new manager was and how was going to settle.

slot then comes in, if I was them I’d have given it a few months as well, now things are going well sounds like Salah and VVd happy to get signed.

Not sure club could do much more on all 3 until the last 2/4 months tbh

So you’d be happy to sell TAA vvd and Salah in summer as soon as slot arrived? Could you imagine?! Fans would be going mental and we’d be competing with spurs and united for 10 mth place

I'd have wanted contracts in front of players slot should have known were top class and it should have been part of his hiring discussions.

Look, you can look all you like at although you need or don't need but these certain players are nearly out of contract and are top class. We are offering them contracts or selling them if they refuse them.

It's now miles past the point where slot should have had his say and still no contracts have been offered so imo we've lost out on 100mil in fees and are going to decimate the team if it's not sorted.
