Handball Leading to Goal

In March 2021, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) announced a change to the handball law, effective from July 1, 2021. According to the new rules, accidental handball in the build-up to a goal will no longer be considered an offence if it does not directly lead to a goal being scored or a goal-scoring opportunity.

In other words, if a player’s accidental handball occurs in the lead-up to a goal, but the goal is scored by a teammate or another player, the goal will be allowed to stand. This change aims to reduce controversy and inconsistency in handball decisions.
99% of hand balls are accidental. If the ball hits a players hand which totally changes the balls direction and it leads to a goal then it's a free kick in any other league in the world apart from when Rangers are playing.

The guy jumped with his back to the ball. His hand was away from his body making his form bigger. It's a free kick.

According to the radio summary of half times , VAR state his hand was close to body and in natural position.

Not seen it myself just passing in the info and that info I posted is the actual rule applicable to all leagues .

Couldn’t care if it was blatant handball tbf . I’d prefer if it was .

Clancy just booked Miller for a perfectly good tackle.

Its now gone to VAR to see if it's a red.

Our game is fùcked

None of this applies to the Motherwell goal according to VAR response summary advised on the radio .

What the rule about a goalkeeper punching ball into his own net due to a player standing near him?
There is no rule about a player standing near a goalkeeper.

There are rules about a player putting his arm around the keepers neck when said keeper is trying to jump for a cross.
