No sort of wine buff, but a friend has come round with a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape from Aldi. For £20 it is excellent. Could be my new favourite, would normally be a Rioja man.
It's consistently good after a little dip in form a few years ago. Good drop. St Emillion had also improved again. Rioja however took a dive years ago and had never recovered, haven't had a good smooth oaky Rioja in a decade.
A treat for surviving soft play, the days calories in one go. friend made me a focaccia so had some leftover chicken liver parfait
Decent local. Two courses for £22 so good value too. 5 min walk out to the cliff tops too, so a good place to have a brisk winter walk to either work up an appetite or walk off the roasties.
