Voted Labour all my life and was delighted they won the last election. But.......... to do what they did to the pensioners was simply not right, they had so many other options in an economy as big as the UK to make an alternative plan. Also, other so called policy decisions that have been made despite saying the opposite during the election debate ( The Waspi issue to name one) make me think we have just voted in another bunch of liars.
The very thought the Tories could actually win the next election send shivers down my spine and even worse, Farage having ANY kind of power is an even worse prospect. Our Politics are well and truly screwed right now.

Rachel Reeves reckons we will all be better off, the CBI reckons we are looking at a deep recession, I’m wondering who to believe <doh>

I'm not going to see a much better quality of life, more spending power or never having to be a bit careful financially in my life time. Believe me.

The fuel allowance move was a terrible decision. It’s unbelievable (and worrying) that no one inside the Labour Party realised the damage it would cause compared to the savings made. Putting themselves on the back foot straight away when they needed to keep as many people on side as possible.

Just reading about another stealth tax increase on Air Passenger Flights from 2026, around 15% more you’ll pay on the majority of flights with long haul being hit the hardest.. glad I’m going to f**king Australia in 2026! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

It's hardly a 'stealth tax', it was announced at the budget but most (if not all) of the media decided to focus on the tax rise on private jet use.

For long haul flights it's going up by £18 if you're in economy class.

A stealth tax is something that’s not a traditional tax so it generally goes unnoticed.. it’s not called stealth because it’s not announced lol. And considering the cheapest flight for ONE of us from Manchester to Perth we’ve been quoted is around £1350, with the total coming in at over £6k return I’m not sure that’s correct. That would be a 1.3% increase, not 15%.

It's a flat rate tax. It's rising from £88 to £106 on long haul.

Fair enough, someone better quote the BBC then because they’ve just been on saying the cost of long haul to Florida for a family of 4 will cost an extra £400 from 2026! And extra legroom seating can apparently fall within the next class, meaning you pay double the flat rate?

If the seat pitch is over 40" the rate will be £253.

    No money for WASPI’s.

    Removal of the WFA.

Working people worse off with higher taxes.

Disability claimants about to be strangled.

Economy going back over from where the Tories pulled us up to.

Cancelled levelling up in the North.

Rachel Thieves has just announced more cuts to come.

Refusal to hold an inquiry for the victims of the grooming gangs.

    Pound hitting new lows.

    Heading towards recession.

Found billions and billions to please union workers despite the so called black hole.

How embarrassing must it be to admit you voted Labour, a party that’s took the economy lower than what the Tories left it after they had to cope with Brexit, Covid, Russia invading Ukraine, Liz Truss :emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0136-giggl and the highest energy prices we’ve ever had and I thought the Tories were s hit.
