Don't believe it was a booking but to be booked for throwing a ball away is moronic...without that he ain't sent off
Whether we deserved it or not I might discuss later, but the injury time thing is just a complete mystery. Was listening to the Citeh Everton match earlier and the commentators were absolutely mystified that there was six minutes added on when pretty much nothing happened. In this match there was all sorts of reasons to have a long injury time and it wasn't, relatively speaking. Best league in the world with awful officials yes. But also you can't have a premier product when the length of the match is such a lottery. I could argue whether these extended times favour one team or the other but the point is the length of the match shouldn't be a secret! We must have consistency and the only way of doing it is a stadium clock so you can see how much time is being added on and when the bloody game is actually going to end.
He didn't exactly throw it away, he spiked it, but it's still stupid. Forest players kicked it away several times without punishment, though. Dogshit referee doing his usual.
TBF, I think it would be very difficult NOT to react to that ridiculous decision of a free kick given by Pawson. Too many supposedly 'senior' players failed to turn up today. Son was abysmal, Kulusevski anonymous and when he did get involved he generally made the wrong decision. Bentancur looked like an average MF player who hadn't played for several weeks. Maddison was given a chance to get involved but totally failed to achieve anything. Solanke worked hard but nothing was created for him to even get a sight of goal. Gray continues to outperform his elders and Bergvall seemed to have much more influence when he came on. All in all, a **** day. Another **** day!
We were slightly better than them and lost which happens quite often in football. Nothing for anyone to get worked up about.
Depends what measurement you use to define 'better'... Personally, watching that game, I cannot find any aspect of it in which we were better than Forest. And I've long since disregarded the possession argument.
Mmm not really sure about that. I thought we were 2nd to the ball for the vast majority of that game. Also out muscled throughout and had neither the talent, nor the intelligence to find a way past a well marshalled defensive set up. Wolves up next on my son's birthday. Can't see that one ending well at all....
Similar amount of shots and both keepers made one decent save each. Beyond that all I saw was us with lots of the ball and no idea, whereas Forest were more than happy for us to have the ball as they looked extremely comfortable. Nuno planned for “Ange-ball” and left with a relatively easy 1-0 win.
I just don’t think we really get any luck at the moment, when it rains it pours! Every team makes mistakes yet it seems everytime we do at the moment it leads to a goal, every single bounce of the ball seems to go the oppositions way and then you add in some of the complete incompetence of the referees plus the injuries then it seems like the weight of the world is on us. I have no doubt we’ll win our next two though, have a good second half of the season and Ange will end up proving a lot of people wrong.
I sincerely hope you are correct! How quick people return, and more importantly how quickly they can get back up to speed, will determine just how the season concludes for us. Europa is still the obvious route to a small chance of glory but somehow I just can't see it at the moment....
