Expecting nothing less than a 4-0 win smacks of entitlement. Enjoy 3 points Lardi. You can’t earn anymore than that in a single game
I listened to Radio 5 Live on my way back from Kempton (bad afternoon, backed 6 losers) , and they were talking up Miles Leaburn on national radio “Hot prospect” etc. I’m sure the Grifters will be delighted at the free PR.
I’ve got the utmost respect for every club and supporter at this level, they are the true soul of English football, unlike the foreign owned PL.
Wycombe are absolutely flying, a draw would be acceptable. We'll still finish outside of the play-offs comfortably, and that is failure.
We are 11th now, 4 points off the Play Off places. Personally I doubt we have the quality, we are a couple of injuries / suspensions away from mediocrity again. No doubt posters “elsewhere” will find small banana-shaped holes in their Y Fronts tonight.
Not getting thoroughly dicked by Wycombe will be 'acceptable' on this season's form. A deficit of fewer than three goals.
The positive for me is that 2 of our own youngsters scored and look like a potentially decent partnership up front. and the 3 points of course. but tbh Cambridge played through us far too often, and we never looked a good team, lost most of the 50/50's in midfield, and for me that's a glaring weakness.
Jones referenced two Academy players scoring in his post match interview. I am reliably informed that one of Jones’ main KPI’s (ie wedge earners) centres around Academy players in the first team.
My usual source tells me that the turnstile count yesterday, actual bums on seats, was only 8,500. The attendance was given as 14,000. This suggests that a lot of ST holders have tossed it in.
They have to count ST holders as attending, regardless of whether they do. The Tubes & buses were running yesterday, but inexplicably the trains were not.
I could explain that, but my post would break the 'no off-topic politics' rule A strange state of affairs, if there is some kind of legal obligation on Clubs to 'count' empty seats bought by ST holders. Surely here is nothing stopping the Club from telling fans how many people were really at the Valley as well as the 'official' figure. If I was an ambulance chief or a fire brigade chief called to the Valley in an emergency, the Club would surely be obliged to tell me how many people there actually are in the Stadium. So why can't fans be told?
I thought we played ok in the first half yesterday. The ball was played on the ground a lot more and TC took his goal well. Leaburn and TC combined and looked threatening. It was a different story in the second half. Cambridge played through our midfield really easily and there seemed a lot of space. But we toughed it out. Last season we would have conceded.
