I do like the chances of Envoi Allen in the King George. I know he was a no-show in the race a couple of years ago but he made a really bad mistake which knocked the stuffing out of him and I’m prepared to give him another chance. Decent price too.
Very good despite crashing into all the hurdles, he will have to improve a lot in that area. Ballymore here we come.
15:45 Wincanton - Ryder's Rock e/w Class-4 Handicap Hurdle over 1m7f on good-to-soft ground. Outsider, but this Fascinating Rock mare might well surprise and gain a podium finish in this affair? Smart conditional, Freddie Gingell (3), rides for the Joe Tizzard yard. 16/1 best price early-doors, in nearly all places on the ATR site.
Watching that Christmas Hurdle was eye watering for me. Impeccable performance. Lossiemouth seemed to be running on well at the finish so the Cheltenham hill won't do her any harm. Just a case now of waiting to see if CH makes it to Cheltenham
Quite right on Grey Dawning, Chan, pulled-up. Fine performance by Banbridge, this fellow really is a top-class jumper.
Funny how you read something, then forget it, and then remember again when it is too late. Whilst perusing the cards yesterday I read somewhere that Philip Hobbs had a good recent record in the Wincanton Pertemps Qualifier. I just checked the result and he won this year's renewal with Thomas Mor at 12/1 - that's now 3 of the last 4 runnings he has won. Very good
I think they can safely write off GD’s 2024 Boxing Day as just one of those days Swanny. Bad mistake early on, out too wide all the way and got barged into by Venetia’s horse down the back. Assuming he is sound there will be other days for him
