Preston was named after the popular “press-on” towel sanitary wear.

Legend has it that when the time came, probably in the 1970s, for the men to de-feral & house train their wives & female offspring Father’s were often heard saying “ will yeh use yer loaf an mek shuwer that stez preston, yer mekkin mess awl ova fluwer an am gerrin tempted to dip me barm in puddle yer mekkin”. Preston was born.

Our bad period is behind us now, no need for press ons to worry us.

I’ve read the whole thing 3 times and I’ve still no idea what time the game kicks off.

    Shoddy.

I’d take a draw, I’d take a draw in most of our away games as long as we can improve the home form

I agree, speaks well and tbh admits he hasn't been where he'd like to be form wise, always makes me think better of a player if they accept stuff like that.

The whole historic county of Lancashire can go for me. As long as they don't seek refuge in Yorkshire

I don't see much difference between Preston and anywhere else in the Country,we're all suffering a marked decline?

For what it's worth,Preston has a decent High Street with a reasonable selection of retailers,a not too shabby rail-link to just about anywhere else in the U.K and a decent array of reasonably priced pubs(including an absolutely huge Wetherspoons)...If anything should be given up, then places like Middlesbrough and Bolton would top my list:emoticon-0103-cool:

    Couldn’t give a **** about Yorkshire

It’s full of some right crappy places and people with a chip on their shoulder and crappy Yorkshireisms

I’ll stick to caring about the County of Kingston upon Hull that Henry VI created in 1440 instead of any new fangled changes thank you.

I'll support the cricket club and proud of my East Yorkshire roots, but the Yorkshire stereotype is focused on the west of the county, and they love to play up to it
