It was around a 10-15min chat on his career, and a bit about Saints. Danny Kelly isn't one of their typical "all about the top 6" presenters. Incidentally I like listening to Paul Ross, one of his producers is a Saints fan.
Doing a press conference now 'I had contact two years ago, which was the first time I started thinking about Southampton, but I was the coach of Torino and I stayed there. But I've been watching a lot since then. I watched then, I watched some last year and this year now too. It was my wish to come here.'
'I understand maybe people in England don't know my style, my tactics so much because in Torino and Verona I did not play in European competition or play against English sides. But my style is Atalanta style. If you saw them against Arsenal, against Liverpool, then you know. That's my style'
Beat West Ham and he'll be very popular. You do look at the next few fixtures and think well we could maybe go into the new year with a fighting chance if we do the business
I’m loving & laughing at the return to Ralphball. High presssing, aggressive, committed football. Never saw much of juric in the serieA, so no idea what to expect. Feels a bit like Ralph goes, new direction, Martin goes, back to old direction. Players will struggle I think, it’s going to be a big adjustment physically.
This lad, I’m going to stick my neck out and say he’s a Burnley fan , gives a pretty good take on what might happen under Ivan.
"While Christmas Day was initially a day off under Martin, we understand the players will now be in and preparing for the clash with West Ham." Cancelling days off; good start, Ivan... https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24816306.ivan-juric-insists-sees-southampton-long-term-project/
I can't believe they were scheduled for a day off the day before a game though ****ing hell, what were the previous regime playing at
I don’t disagree at all. Step 1 for newly promoted sides with less quality than the rest of the league is be fit and work hard. But our players have had an easy ride with ‘one of the boys in charge’. Feels like we’re going to need some wins fairly quickly to show the players that suddenly having less days off and having to work much harder in training is worth it.
Great reporting from the echo “After the 0-0 defeat at Fulham, Saints defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis admitted he expects to be training hard under the stewardship of the Croatian.“
