Always thought this song belonged to Robert Palmer... Enter stage right, Marvin Gaye! Can't decide which is better. Both classic voices, singing a classic song, in a pretty similar style.
Thanks mate , well worth waiting for, third from last number was right on the nail, loved it. Did you speak to the man in view ? . . .
I was in Basingstoke.. 197?ish Went into a pub in town centre, cant remember its name This came on Juke Box. Liked it. For no other reason
Looking at previous posts, I doubt many folk will like this. I get that. I dont like heavy metal etc but everyone has different tastes But this song, watching the dancing, seeing people happy, really puts me in a good mood better than any modern ****e But wtf Im an old fart HTFL .
A great song Jack. Really enjoyed listening to it. Very upbeat. I agree with you that everyone on there seemed so happy. Probably that post WW2 optimism where anything could be achieved. But as I’m sure you’ll agree that music has that quality. It can also make people melancholic and can elicit a wide range of emotions. Some Punk songs for example could elicit anger. Some bands use their music to make social and political points. Midnight Oil are a fantastic example of this. I think you’ll also agree though that it doesn’t matter what genre of music we are drawn to generally; rock and metal for me, the older we get the more we can recognise good music when we hear it.
'Harmonica' from Gonks Go Beat (1964) older posters might recognise that 2 of the 3 members of the original supergroup are members of this band
Their final/finest moments ; one of them bough me a drink once it was one of my finest moments as he was quite scary by reputation.
