I was thinking about this. We must be the neutral's favourites by a mile. The team you watch when you're in the mood of footy but yours aren't on. Levy needs to look into this. We should be charging a premium for our televised games. Platinum packs come with free supply of popcorn in THFC branded buckets etc. There's money to be made in all this chaos.
Bissouma is the darling most likely to be killed sooner rather than later ...though is he even a darling at this point?
Cute how the BBC's description of Jamie Redknapp is 'former Tottenham midfielder', as if we wouldn't notice.
I remember before the summer window somebody (possibly Dan KP) suggested a few darlings would be killed, and back then I was saying Bissouma and Bentancur would surely be top of the list
Will be amazed if Ange is still our manager by new year. Personally think that his style of football needs 2 very good players for each position so they can be properly rotated. The club need to give him that. They chose him so they have to back him. I think that changing managers yet again is a ridiculous thing to do. I know Ange has made mistakes but every manager does especially ones new to the Premier league. Changing now will set us back another 2 or 3 years imho
I wouldn't lose any sleep if he is sacked. Bang average manager and a terrible coach. But it has reached a point where I just don't trust that whoever we replace him with will be any better. If anything, chances are they'll be worse. I also have zero faith Levy will back then any more than has has backed Ange, so replacing him will probably produce a similar temporary bounce to the one we had when Conte took over, and 12-18 months later we'll be back to square one again, wondering whose decision it was to award Richarlison a new 6-year contract.
This does seem the growing view amongst the fanbase: Ange is a pretty **** manager but the board will find a way to appoint a ****ter one so would rather persist and just back Ange with quality players in the hope the quality can paper over his ability and do well.
You can almost sense yet another Portuguese coach being lined up for the next one. As I said earlier it's either twist or stick, and I suspect Daniel will go for the former...
I'm old enough to remember Burkinshaw and after he got us relegated, barely got us up, had two piss poor seasons where we were humiliated 7 nil by Liverpool, 5 nil by arsenal and took 3 games to beat non league Altrincham in the FA Cup. But he learned on the job and produced some great teams. In 81 we won the fa cup but came 10th in the league. In 1982 we lost the league cup final, lost in the cup winners cup semi finals, won the fa cup, and were in with a chance of winning the league but ended up playing something like a game every 2 or 3 days for the last 2 weeks of the season. In 83 we came 4th and in 84 we won the UEFA Cup. None of that happens if he hadn't been given time to learn on the job.
