I agree mate, but as you can see if they get everything took off them and relegated it’s not quite as easy as it sounds, personally I’m praying the new league gets the go ahead and the big six get the boot.
The games totally gone, the amount of money being spent is out of control. Transfer/wage caps would be the best thing ever introduced at this point imo, I’m even starting to think draft rules like the NFL would be beneficial. We all want to see the best players in the Premier League but it’s getting to a point where mid table clubs in the PL could probably win titles in other major European leagues because of how much money is being poured into them.
xG waste of ****ing time Boro gained a point, more than we did down Plymouth I don’t like Middlesbrough but they’re a good championship side. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if we met in the play-offs.
Wow, quite a shock to find you talking them up and us down. xG is flawed but it was also used on here to claim that Boro are brilliant so worth providing some balance occasionally.
I'm one of the ones whose definitely a fan of how Boro play, but I've said a few times they are so inconsistent. Boro play some great stuff but their defence is crap imo, give away loads of cheap/sloppy goals
Canny side Boro as are we. I agree with him though. It's canny likely we meet in the play offs. Don't think that's a silly statement by any means.
I’d say they are our closest match, can barely split us. I mean in terms of if you looked at whole picture you’d have us side by side. They a good side with flaws.
Definitely, except for the 8 points, 4 less defeats and and +6 better goal difference. I’m not even saying we’re better or that we’ll finish above them come the end of the season but I just don’t get this constant elevation they enjoy on here along with others.
We were talking man for man. Nobody is saying they are Brazil 70 mate, they are saying, correctly, that they are a decent side.
Yes, but you're fair and balanced in your assessment of the Lads in my opinion. I don't think the same applies to those that cause my annoyance but I think we've already had this discussion.
I think the majority are good on this forum mate. Some, like myself let the emotion turn into being a tad too pissed off but mostly, it's pretty accurate I would say.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with admitting other teams are decent. We aren’t even half way through the season yet and a lot can change. If we dismiss everyone around us then finish below them come the end of the season we’ll look pretty daft.. the club is in good place right now nout wrong with respecting the clubs that we expect to in and around come may. I read/watch a lot of football related content and see so much bias from fans regarding their own club, loads of whom write us off and claim their players are the best in every position on the pitch, fans are the best in the league, manager is the best etc.. we all love our football club and as Prehab mentioned above some of us let the emotion get the better of us at times, normally alcohol related it doesn’t mean we support other clubs or are less of a lads fan than people who see everything through red n white tinted glasses but IMO it’s cringeworthy at times how some fans go on about their own club and can’t accept that other teams can have decent players too. Not saying that’s here by the way but in general.
See my posting history, I do that plenty but there's a massive difference in doing that and then disproportionately talking up other teams (way, way above what they actually are) largely, as I perceive it, to denigrate Sunderland (whether it's conscious or not). They (the people that bother me) see nowt but good in others and nowt but flaws in the Lads. It's different, in the main, on other club's forums as you say, they talk up their own club and talk others down. We're the opposite and it's a mindset that's pervasive with a significant proportion of our fanbase that I wish would go away as I think it holds the club back at times (fans' fault klaxon etc I know). I believe a lot of us enjoy the 'woe is me' schtick. The equivalent at the minute 'yeah, we're alright but them, them and them are better'. There again, maybe I'm just a massive contrarian as previously, when we were 5 points, clear I was telling everyone to calm down and not get carried away.
