Was always a bit fearful of him when we played Wigan. Could definitely do some damage for a better side
Same problems under both Lampard and Robins for Coventry. Suggests that their squad is the problem not the coach.
really poor recruitment from them. Always historically been good recruiters but as soon as they got a bit of cash they seem to have lost it
Started the game well as well but not clinical enough then the GK makes 2 mistakes for the equaliser They've needed a good GK for a few yrs now, both their fullbacks are good going forward but poor defensively - both better as wingbacks imo
Bassette dives more than Tom Daley, why doesn't the Ref card him for simulation, likes to play off the shoulder mind.
Bassette a touch offside for Coventry's goal but can't blame the linesman for not being sure enough to give it, says McAnuff. He's a good pundit.
Think @WorkyTicketFTM is onto something. Only 26 as well, would be a shrewd signing by someone near the top.
When you reinvest £40m at this level you expect results, that’s why Robins was let go - but has that £40m really been invested wisely? The thing that miffed me was signing Wright, Simms, Thomas-Asante and Bassette. That’s over half of what they’ve spent on four players who all want to lead the line as a lone striker. Wright can play on the left but he’s about 6’4 it’s a waste. You need one marque striker and a back up not four. They haven’t improved their defence or found a decent midfielder to play with Sheaf, who I really like.
