A bit early I know, but no time like the present. Please post anything to do with the upcoming tough match with West Brom in this thread please. Any other thread on the subject will be merged into this thread.
This gets earlier and earlier each week! I'm always nervous coming up to West Brom games. That record has to go some time!
Me too. The games with the Baggies are oddly enough the games I get most nervous about. We need to win this game, it's a 6 pointer.
It's only a six pointer if we lost and we won't lads. Lose, we never do! I've always said Sgt too Keep the faith it works, well let's hope it works on Monday night eh. Some of best perfromaces are mid week / night games, bring it on.
each game seems a massive one and its no exception for WBA Blackpool have closed the gap with a 3-1 win against Spurs.we will see how the other games go at the weekend and it will be a tense game. Hopefully the record will stay and like Potts says the night games are always special.
Just had a telephone engineer in the office and it turns out he's a Baggies fan. He saw my Stoke mug and poster and asked me if I was going to the game. He's a season ticket holder and is going to the game. He says he doesn't expect them to get anything from the game, in the 20 years or so he's been going to the matches he's never seen them beat us! I told him that I always go into the games against the Baggies expecting our unbeaten run to come to an end, it has to happen one day. I just hope it doesn't happen on Monday. UTPssss.
Not sure whow reliable this news is, it is The Mirror after all. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Stoke's Etherington set to miss West Brom game Stoke winger Matthew Etherington is again a major doubt ahead of Monday's Barclays Premier League clash with West Brom at the Britannia Stadium. Etherington missed Wednesday's 1-0 defeat at Arsenal with a back-related injury that initially forced him off after 38 minutes of last Saturday's FA Cup fifth-round win over Brighton. Defender Abdoulaye Faye is unlikely to figure after missing the last four matches with a hamstring injury, whilst striker Mamady Sidibe is out with a ruptured Achilles.
Looks like its touch and go then a big loss in a huge game which could see us put some daylight between the lower chasing pack.Just wondering what everyone thinks about Fuller will he make a start after a couple of llimited appearances or will TP stick with Carew,Walters partnership .Strange when you think of Jones,Fuller as being the certain two starters earlier in the season. This i feel is a massive game for Jones and hopefully a goal will get him back to his best. Just noticed on another thread it was your birthday sarge hope you had a good one, taking my lad up to the brit for a stadium tour later today as his birthday treat.
4-2-3-1 Begovic Wilkinson--Shawcross--Huth--Pugh Whitehead--Delap Pennant--Fuller--Walters Carew You might not think we play a formation such as this but I believe that we actually do. Whitehead and Delap are deployed in the cage and both Pennant and Walters will run all day long defending and providing support for both attackers as they put balls in the box. Fuller SHOULD be deployed as an advanced playmaker as he can show that little bit of magic in a matter of seconds which is what we need and with Carew we have someone who can hold the ball up, has bags of pace and doesn't half get a decent shot off that can trouble goalkeepers as we have seen in previous matches against good opposition.
TP for the past 2 days has been to a carpentry school, trying to find out why square pegs will not fit into round holes, unfortunately he failed & just built a cage instead. out of the cage came a reccurring echo, play 1 upfront, play 1 upfront, but not jones, but not jones
I fancy a 2-0 win to the Mighty Potters, reasons as follows: Mr Hodsons record against Stoke as a manager is as bad as West Broms as a team.West Brom can not contend with Stokes power and fitness. Finally we always beat West Brom.
I was thinking about this the other day remember the game in the Snow Big Mama and Tuncay we did the double and then victory over Liverpool all the signs look good.I am surprised WBA made a change at this stage with the league so tight.
We'll do alright, we always do. I'm fancyin a 3-1 win. Carew and Fuller both starting and getting a goal, them scoring a stupid corner and begovic makin a mistake again (i wish they'd just put soro in again). Then Huth finishing off the scoring with a nice easy header
Not worried about tonight, just anoyed that sky changed the date, so now i'm unable to go as i'll be at work. 3-0 to the potters. I'm also missing the cup game as i'm away and can't change the dates, bummer
I worry everytime we play the Baggies, is this the time. My bet will be on 2 v 1 to the Mighty Rip Roaring Potters. Look out for me staggering out of the Waddo, always need plenty of beer with this fixture.
Er rubbish and lucky spring to mind. Okay offside goal but Baggies were the better side and that was one of the most lacklustre displays I've seen from Stoke all season. We got one and just sat back and never looked like getting a second. Will seriously need to improve on Saturday and against Newcastle or we will be right in it
