This guy is gonna kick ass. No more loving the players. Do what you are asked to do. Exactly what we need. I've been reading
Has Will Smallbone left the club or just injured? I have not seen his name mentioned on any posts lately.
Part of me feels he would be better off staying at Sheff Wed. I don't think he will be a game changer here, but a full season in the Championship could well make him a much better player for us next season.
Blackmore on Solent right now as a guest on Ian Wilding's Sportshour show - Juric has told Saints he wants to be in the dugout at Fulham on Sunday either way - Rusk might end up taking that game, it will all depend on visa situations - If Juric can't be in the dugout then he will watch from the Cottage - He's been described by someone at Saints as 'softly-spoken, but will suddenly tell you exactly what he thinks, in no uncertain terms'
Everything i have read makes it seem like he is chaotic, stubborn and pretty intense. Whilst that could easily lead to disaster if he starts badly, it is also probably our only chance of staying up. The players need a complete shock and change of approach and Juric seems like he will do just that. It feels like a roll of the dice, but with us already firmly heading towards relegation, and the break clause meaning there is no financial risk, we have nothing to lose.
The more I hear about Juric, the more I think he's what we need. He sounds like a Laurie Macmenamy character. A bit old school, ie.not mates with the players. May be wrong, but I think it's the shake up that the players need, not want.
Could be interesting to see how the players react to someone who sounds very different to Martin in terms of his man management. Could be quite a big shake up on the normal 11. Might be a few players who will become much more fringe/never play than under Martin, and maybe some players who have barely played will be given more of a chance. Our squad is huge so plenty of options for a new manager to look at
Honestly, if the players hate it.. good. They’ve gotten away with way too much the last few years. **** the lot of them after that spurs performance.
Just realised I got my Castel Di Sangro and my Hellas Verona mixed up. A Season With Verona is still a brilliant book though!
